My suspicion is that Lucas is probably dying, because I my gut feeling is that is the only way he would sell out. But this is only my opinion and there is nothing what so ever to back it up.

Great. We're going to get a new Star Wars movie every Christmas now. Lucas' career is different than really any other director.He was really a very poor director of actors. He had a big hit with his second film- American Graffiti (which has an amazing 50's soundtrack and is a decent film) and then made Star Wars as his third movie. He hit big with it and never really did anything except Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies and made billions off them.Lucas did create an excellent world with some very good characters, but it really should have stopped a long time ago.

Movies are now so expensive to make and studios are so risk-averse, that the blockbuster movies are almost always completely unoriginal. Any movie that is remotely popular (i.e. makes money) will just get re-made over and over again. Any TV show that was ever popular, will get turned into a movie. Any comic book that was ever remotely popular, will get turned into a movie. If that movie fails, they will re-make it a few years later. If it succeeds, they will do a sequel or two or three and then wait a few years and re-launch it. You know what's coming out this summer? Iron Man 3 (first was a lot of fun, second was dull). The Hangover 3 (first was fun, second was a copy of the first and dull). fast and the Furious part 6 (all sucked), Star Trek 2 (first was fun, but no sequel needed), Man of Steel (Superman is just not an interesting character. he's too good and too powerful.), The Wolverine (Series started off well and getting progressively worse),,and on and on and on...It's just embarrassing and frustrating..

To be fair, Bourne and Star Wars have some great stories after what was shown in theatres. The original Bourne author has 5 books (4 already into movies) and there is some other guy who continues to write it, he has 4 more books (making it 9 total), although I do not know how good they are. About Star Wars, Lucas has participated in some really great post episode 6 comic books. There are some exceptional works in the area, Disney could easily transform them into good movies. Also, George himself had an idea for a prequel and sequel triology. He abadonned the sequel idea and only did the prequel. Now, money has spoken stronger.

If the movies turn out to be very poor, that aint because they wanted to explore our money (which they do) by creating shit things out of their minds and ruin the characters and the fantasy. The stories already exist, the problem would be production, actors and plot. It would be mistakes of a sht job, not idea.

We cant make any statement saying because it is Disney, it will be shit. Disney has its good and bad sides, they already did some good movies (Pirates 1 and 3, Iron Man 1, John Carter, Avengers) and some bad ones (Pirates 2 and 4, Thor, Tron). What pains me though, is the merchant and toys, this WILL be poor...

I liked the new bourne film... Granted it was weighed down by all the expectations due to its name, but if it was called something different and had no references to jason bourne then people would probably have said it was a good film... I reckon they will make a new one with Matt damon and jeremey renner. As that would be a huge money maker for them, and they haven't ruled out him making a return.

True..his real strength was his creativity, as a director not so much...Which is why Ep5 when directed by someone else, became perhaps the best in the series.

And yeah its a shame that there's nothing original coming out. Everything seems to be a rehash of popular stuff from the 80's-90's. While it could be due to the lack of ideas, I think the real reason has more to do with studios looking to avoid risks in trying something different.

The original trilogy (IV, V, VI) was made in the 70s and 80s. And the prequel trilogy was made in the 90s and 00s (I, II, III).

Of course you could watch them chronologically but where is the fun in that?

If you believe Lucas he started with 4 because the technology didn't exist in the 70's to make the first 3 the way he wanted. But I agree watch them in the order they were made, and if you can find the original versions of IV, V, and VI before Lucas mucked them up and "remastered" and fixed them.

But anyways ^w^, Well i dunno i never followed star wars much, but Disney's gotten pretty good on my list with Such tewns as Gravity falls (though i know disney's been hiring the older CN animators apparently) and also i enjoyed frankenweenie which was from disney again, i know the new toons and such have divided opinions but i love em :3, So with the direction disney seems to me they have taken, might be a bit of hope ya know
