That was the best team performance we've had under di Matteo. Everyone was absolutely outstanding, in fairness. Yes, it was "only" Wolves but we played a side full of youngsters and 'fringe players', with only a couple of regular starters. It was a great, comprehensive performance from our midfielders in particular, and the debutants were very impressive.

Turnbull - 6 - he had little to do, but what he did do, he did well. One very good save, some very good punches under pressure and a competent showing.

Azpi - 8 - very impressed. His defensive qualities were already well known to me, but I was surprised just how attacking he was. A superb debut.

Terry - 7 - totally unflustered. Played as a makeshift midfielder at times, he was underemployed that much.

Cahill - 7 - like Terry, criminally under-tested. He took his goal well and was a persistent attacking threat with his driving runs. Good interchangability with Azpi on the right, as well.

Bertrand - 8 - again, impressive. A superb finish and he was such a persistent threat on the left. Employed as a winger, rather than a defender, but what little he had to do defensively, he did well.

Mata - 9 - a near-faultless performance. A goal, two assists, and a miserly performance. Juan is back, ladies and gentleman.

Romeu - 7 - on his 21st birthday, he put in a very mature performance. A brilliant penalty as well, and we saw just how disciplined he can be - there would have been a great temptation just to play in an attacking capacity, but he showed remarkable composure.

Ramires - 7 - he was his usual self. I much prefer him in the middle of the pitch, where he is more efficient and effective. He harries the opposition into submission. He bossed the game alongside Romeu.

Moses - 8 - brilliant again. Deserved his start and on this evidence, he should be retaining his place.

Torres - 6 - quiet at times, an absolute livewire at others. He got one goal but should have had one or two more. Nevertheless, it was a marked improvement on the shocking 'effort' he put in to his previous showings. Better, but let's calm down a bit before we raise our hopes again. 4 goals in 9 is an improved ratio, at least.

Piazon - 8 - he was great last night. Sometimes, as a debutant, you can shy away from the ball, or conversely try and do too much. Piazon got the balance spot on, with a very assured performance. He caused trouble throughout the game and his stock will have risen greatly.

Marin impressed me when he came on, as well. Oscar was his usual brilliant self, same with Hazard. 6-0 flatters Wolves - it should have been 8+.
