Had a good game against Valencia.

Put in many good crosses, esp first half, but our attackers were not very sharp today, including Tammy who had a poor game.

Caveat, not crazy about azpi as a wingback either. When playing 3 at the back, he should be one of the 3.

He should, but we had nobody to put at RB/RWB. Otherwise if we did, then Azpi over Zouma in a back 3 all day long.

Thought of pedro there. Would have given us a bit more attacking ambition from the start.

This is our captain

While I don't think Azpi is captain material that's reaching a bit calling him out for that.

Drogba once had a manhug with Carragher at Anfield while we were two down and Zlatan greeted our players with smiles after we stuffed United 4-0.

And I remember United fans bashing Zlatan for doing so.There was also always a mutual respect between Drogba and Carragher.

That said, Zlatan and Drogba have far too much pride than to applaud a rival decimating a team. I'm not calling Azpi out on anything. This is something I've now learned to accept from him, and it now reflects our current standard.

He just liked just a scoreline post with 'Tag a friend you'll smash like this in FIFA 20' caption and there are people pissed over it? Guess people are just outraged over anything and everything these days...

Outraged

Jesus I suppose that means anything. Considering numerous footballers all over the world like posts about other teams or players etc. Do people really care that fucking much 🤣 its just modern day football.

He played well today I felt.

Is no one going to mention Azpi's improved form? Got criticized so much not too long ago (the abuse in particular was unwarranted) but has greatly rediscovered his old self over the last month or so. He might be approaching the wrong side of 30 but he still got life in him yet.
Defensively played like one of the best again, like he used to.

Pressing players, nicking the ball and playing it forward he was good too. Still can't cross though lol which is weird because when he was the 3rd cb coming forward a little more centrally the guy played brilliant balls into Morata.

The return of James might have something to do with it but credit to Azpi for turning around his form. May not be great going forward (can't be helped at this point) but still can be excellent when it comes to defending.

He can't attack, though.

I still believe he's the best defender we have and should play at CB only.

There was that chance in the first half that he shot instead of passed with 4 Chelsea players in the box. It sums him up really. If we could clone Alonso and Azpi we would have the best full back in the world imo
