If a player is to be signed in January I'm really, really, really, really hoping it's David Villa. I don't care that he is 30, is still one of the best fowards in the world. Sure it would be a short term fix as he probably only has two really good years left (or four if he is lucky, he could turn out like Zola...) but he fits Chelsea style like a glove and he still has a lot to give to club and country.

I would probably lose my shit if he were to sign for another BPL club.

I loooooooove Villa. As a short term fix he would be great yeah. Unless we'd have to pay some ridiculous fee, anything above 15-17 mil would be too much if you ask me. That said, I think he'd do a great job here. Think he'd like to join as well. Won't allow myself to get excited though.

You should've used a Valencia pic btw, back when he was actually played in his natural position and struck fear into every defence he faced:

I wanted to capture his new badass beard. He only had a lame soul patch back in ye olde days.

We need a striker who will bail us out when the team is not playing well.rvp/hernandez/rooney do it for man,dzeko/aguero do it for city, ronaldo and messi do it for their teams while our striker even when the team is playing well shies away from shooting and misses great chances.

We simply need a striker that can score goals. He can be shit at football, have no technical ability but always troubles the GK and defenders. We need to get Carroll or maybe even Adebayor as he aint playing for Tottenham at all. We need that focal point of the attack. Having Torres could be the difference of coming top and coming 4th or even 5th. If we had a Cavani or Falcao, we'd be pretty devastating but they will be too expensive. We've had a nice run due to Ramires playing where he should play and Mata being a genius. We can't rely on hoping to keep winning games without a proper striker. Get anyone, get Charlie Austin for £2m lol anyone who knows how to score goals will score with this Chelsea team.

It is incredible how some people get bling by their love for some players. They cant even argue with statistics, examples and point of view; all they can do is tell you are not the worlds best debater...

How old is Soldado? He'd be awesome too and relatively inexpensive.

I still would prefer Cavani over Falcao. We just need a good striker not the best goal-scorer in the world. We have more than enough goals in our side, we just need a striker, who can link up well with everyone, provide some aerial threat and hold the ball well.

27 this year.

One option we should look at is Lewandowski. Good in the air, links up play well and has a good finishing though he can still improve in that department. Has 2 years left in his Dortmund contract and is only 24 too.

That's only one person on this forum who for some reason loves David Villa, even with Chelsea's policy for over-30's.

Bringing in David Villa is an okay short-term option IF he agrees to take low wages.

I'd prefer Chelsea to sign a 24-27 year old forward, someone who will hit their peak sooner rather than later and start firing Chelsea to even more success.
