Joker10 946
So let me guess... we make this agreement with RM, spend 10-15m more on Modric as he's obviously that amount more valuable than Oscar and then we spend another 40m or so on Reus to replace Oscar and another 15-20m on another super talented young AM (I guess this Gritzemann guys fits the bill) so we have squad depth. That's such a genius idea. Make sure you fax it to someone in the board...(ps. and lol forever at Modric being the best CM in the world. LOL)I also had a good laugh at Modric being the best CM in the world. Oscar 441
This might seem like a stretch, however, I personally think Hazard holds Oscar back and vice versa...It wasn't a coincidence that Oscar look more like a n10 when Hazard got injured... It also wasn't a coincidence that Willian played extremely well when he was paired with Schurrle and salah....I think next season, Mourinho should make a decision on Oscar or Hazard and buy maybe a Reus (prolific winger, runner, etc). sdrcfc 461
Modric for Oscar? No thanks! Why would we trade one of the brightest midfielders in a world for one who's turning 29 this year? Beepu and Viper22
Viper22 2,418
Oscar is Brazilian I get it, you love all Brazilian players at Chelsea but as a club we always look to make best decisions for the club, sometime it means selling fan favorite players. Who said we would need 15-20m for a backup? Just need to sign Reus/Gritzemann to replace Oscar and boom, Oscar+£30-40m for 2 top world class players. What happens in 2-3 years when Modric is 32 and pretty much done then? Then we have to shell out even more money. Oscar is young and still developing. Give him time and he will become a top quality playmaker. What's best for the club is sticking with your current players and not always wishing for others. As a side note, where has all this love for Griezmann come from all of a sudden? I realise he's been pretty decent at a poor club this season, but there's a difference between playing well for a poor club in La Liga and playing well at the top end of the Premier League people. Ask Iago Aspas.
Popular Post! remains of the day 564 Posted April 12, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted April 12, 2014 I think we as fans like the idea of having talented young players with “world class potential” in the team but yet many of us can’t handle the inconsistent performances that these players tend to display. We all love the club’s new policy of signing young elite talents like Hazard, Oscar et al (now the latest one people want is Kovacic) but the moment these players go through a poor spell, as most young players do, some begin making theoretical shopping lists and casting their eye to who should be brought in to replace them. Oscar has areas that he needs to improve in, but when you sign a player for their potential that's what you're gonna get. Obviously they're not going to be the finished product. If you look at any of the other elite young talents (Hazard aside) how many of them have been able to perform consistently through out the season? Pogba was fantastic at one point but has been borderline mediocre for much of 2014. Gotze has showed flashes of top performances here and there but for the most part hasn't really set the world alight since his move to Bayern. Same goes for Neymar. Isco……... is he even alive??What I'm saying is that it's normal for young players to constantly oscillate between spells of highs and lows, especially those playing for top clubs where there's a lot pressure - pressure that can take a toll on their performances. So I'm just finding these talks about offloading Oscar and bringing in Reus, Griezmann or whoever, kinda premature. Patience people. nore_ega, Rmpr, dee25 and 13 others

Its not hazard who makes oscar/willian worse, its just that each of these players do well with an intelligent runner bcos they are creators. Without runners to pass to, they are no longer as effective. Same situation happened to ozil when ramsey/walcot got injured. So I think salah/shurlle should be playing with them to solve this. Ask Iago Aspas. For me he is quite intelligent he will be able to play at best level until he is around 34-35 imo like Xavi or Alonso. And just a theory, nothing suggests we will be able to sign Modric.
Gilvorak 3,734
Today might have been Oscar's best performance since Stoke in the FA Cup. Thought he completely changed the game for us. Mr_President, Barbara and Land

dee25 1,044
I've been very impressed with him in these last couple of games. Extremely impressed. However, there's still a lot he needs to improve on.Very much hoping Mourinho can work with him on his offensive skills. Oscar and Hazard are both so talented but they need a lot coaching. Just hope Mourinho can get the best out of them. Barbara

Jase 43,479
Oscar for the pivot! One word. No.Mourinho only played him in the pivot today because Swansea were down to 10 men and just sat deep and defend. It was a risk taken but there wasn't any danger that our midfield was going to get overrun.
haranr 485
I am truly sorry but as I see it now Oscar is just not good enough to play a starter in Chelsea next season, please someone change my mind and make me understand why we should keep him.
