I never thought I would see the day when someone actually sticks up for Liverpool on these forums.

I'm hardly sticking up for them, they're a great club, only a narrow-minded moron would say otherwise. They may not have the same success now that they did 20 years ago, but they are still a big club, like Juventus.

Maybe they were fed up of being robbed? Fact of the matter is, they're a great club, if I was a professional footballer and I had the chance to play for Liverpool, I'd sign for them. I'd definitely score seven own-goals when they play Chelsea though.

I'd be happy to see that happen , then maybe you should be called a professional spy not a footballer XD

I think, any professional footballer couldn't help thinking about going to such a great club, except those who have already archieved success. so if one day they offer me a contract, I probably cannot turn it down though I love Chelsea .. :(

You're being honest here, that's good, but i know no way on this earth will you praise Arsenal like that!, oh i know, i bet all my money on it!.

The international break could work to his advantage in terms of starting the Sunderland game. 2 weeks since the team played together anyway, so the 3 games he’s missed will/should have less influence on whether he’s ready to start the game. It will be an effective way for AVB to shake things up, and it’s not like we have any meaningful momentum to sustain.

Liverpool are historically a big club that has been left behind by the rest of the top clubs and emerging ones. Hence why their fans are so quick to make reference to their past success as a way of retaining some dignity and pride which is rapidly fading into obscurity.

the big change now is they actually have owners who will invest . They are very different from Gilette and Hicks

I have to admit I really rate this lad, and I had this ridiculous hope that we would somehow get Sturridge in the Meireles deal, I knew it was unlikely but regardless I kept up hope. Because in my opinion this lad is easily the best up and coming English striker by some distance, and I hate to admit it but he is 10x the player Carrol is :(

I was wondering why would a chelsea fan hate to admit that, but then I seen that you are a bin dipper.

Welcome :D.

You guys went from one good deal (Suarez), to sell a great a deal (Torres), to get a bad deal (Carroll).

It's like a roller coaster!

Carroll's game is stereotyped and is atypical, he is not really a good pivot but just a player who give defenders the temptation to throw him random long balls (who said Skrtel ?) which cannot be exploited properly, particulary the second balls for the support players (on the knee it's inexploitable).

Sturridge is such better than that, he can fill the forward role because of his speed, he can also play in support, on a wing. He is unpredictable (Enrique still have nightmares), full of qualities even if his headers and his right foot can be improved.

I must admit I do agree with you because I also feared that Studge could be part of a deal and I also think he is going to be one of the best strikers in Europe :P

My main issue with Carrol isn't even the type of player he is it's just that he seems to not even give a toss on the pitch, he shows none of the hunger or the lust to prove himself like other young footballers like lets say Sturridge, but also the issue is that everytime Carrol is on the pitch we just start playing hoofball with Carragher front and center just panic clearing it to carrol every single time no matter who we face, so frustrating. Without Carrol we play such a fluid and nice attacking game that is a joy to watch.

The Carrol deal is the only deal I really disagree with though it must be said but I just don't see him fulfilling his promise.

Fuck men, a front three of Sturridge-Torres-Mata is getting me:

But just in case Torres continues to suck, replacing Torres for Lukaku would still be awesome!

Mate, Torres just needs direct support player around him like Gerrard was at Loserpool (it's for you Reddreamz :D)

Every good game of Nando were when he had a support player behind him, Anelka (Copenhagen A, West Ham H), Yossi (Wigan H), Mata (the last 20mn last game) and even Kalou did look a decent player against City behing Torres.

Players such as Drogba are UFOs, Torres needs a player to play around the box because since the start of the season when he wants the ball he has to drop his forward position to play with Lampard or Bosingwa, but they are too far and the defence can reorganize itself. I'm quite sure that with Mata (or with Yossi) Torres will/would have shine

Yossi was never that type of player in my opinion, even at liverpool he never really linked up with Torres in any significant way. Mata might be able to get Torres going but Torres also needs to get his act together from what i've seen of him when playing for your lot he definately seems out of form or just bereft of confidence, cause there were times when he was basically a one man attack aswell, yes he linked up with Gerrard alot but he could score solo goals aswell.

I think the way Ancelotti bedded him in against us fucked his confidence up something rotten, was the worst thing he ever did in my opinion.
