ChelseaUSA 0
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...e.html?ITO=1490 Chelsea kick-off Ancelotti's reign by signing City striker Daniel Sturridge Chelsea kick-off Ancelotti's reign by signing City striker Daniel Sturridge By Matt Lawton and Simon Cass Last updated at 12:56 AM on 03rd June 2009 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...-Sturridge.html Chelsea have kicked off Carlo Ancelotti’s reign in spectacular style by luring Daniel Sturridge from Manchester City and preparing a £45million bid for another wonderkid, AC Milan’s Alexandre Pato. They have moved to revitalise their ageing squad by signing the highly-rated 19-year-old striker, who was out of contract at Eastlands, and moving for Brazil forward Pato, also 19, who played for manager Ancelotti in Italy. The Italian has also convinced owner Roman Abramovich to perform a U-turn over Didier Drogba and offer the striker a new three-year contract despite his outburst after Chelsea were knocked out of the Champions League by Barcelona. Ancelotti does not officially start until next month but he is urgently restructuring the club’s attack and may not yet have given up on Kaka, his favourite player from AC Milan, who is thought to prefer a move to Spain. Real Madrid thought they had struck a world record £54m deal for the Brazilian last night after agreeing a five-year contract worth £148,000-a-week net, but reports in Spain claimed Chelsea were trying to hijack the deal. England Under 20 striker Sturridge has become the first signing of the new regime on a free after City refused to meet his £55,000-aweek wage demands. He made 16 Premier League appearances last season and scored four goals but Chelsea sporting director Frank Arnesen has been after him for three years. Pato has been seen as Kaka’s replacement for club and country and his signing would be a real coup.

Term-X 7,891
theres no official response from the official Chelsea site and their has been nothing said on sky sports news. btw if we did sign him that pretty much means it's the end of the line for franco di santo with anelka & drogba clearly not going to be sold .. big shame that is. and btw theres no chance in hell milan would sell pato now, especially with kaka going
Term-X 7,891
until it's on the official Chelsea site it's not official.

robaldo 0
I don't see this anywhere, not even a report on BBC or SS that they are even interested or in talks
robaldo 0
He reminds me of Carlton Cole. I hear he has a lot of potential which Cole had but he seems like the same sort of person/player which we will probably not see the best from unless he joins an average team where he might look good
EskWeston 696
Just roumers at the moment. But i would be more than happy to see us sign him. Good young player with an eye for goal. A big talent for the future and with the added bonus of being English.
EskWeston 696
Everything is a roumer until confirmed by Chelsea. We have been told we have signed both Zhirkov and Sturridge now, neither of which has been confirmed. I would think that Sturridge would be very likely. We have been after him for a long while now, and picking up top English prospects is very important at the moment. We will have to wait and see, if it is done then Chelsea will confirm it soon enough.

Carlton cole is a 1 in 4 finisher carlton cole never had a good touch, sturridge has vision too.
