nadavTKL 1,787
Another great cross by Ivanovic, but Daniel's header was brillent... was happy to see he can do that so well.I realy want him to play as a striker already... i think he's doing well on the right- he's our best player along with Mata, but i cant wait to seehim playing in the front with more pacy players around him... including Mata off course. I think Sturridge can be a fantastic striker... he haswhat it takes to be one of the best imo.
zolayes 14,489
I would certainly have either danny or lukaku leading the line before Torres now
ja1 1,166
Was the best out of the attacking trio tonight
Las7 951
The difference is that Sturridge gets ahead of his marker and is able to receive the ball, Torres mostly gets clattered and is unable to be in front of one of the defenders - for a top class striker you have to know where to run in order to position yourself between the ball and the defender. And as I said it's easier for Sturridge to find space with Drogba on the pitch because Drogba is a big guy and is not as easily marked as Torres is right now. A lot has been said about Torres and the amount of chances that are created for him, but witness this game and see how many times in the first half Torres was able to position himself between one of the central defenders and the ball - it certainly did not happen often enough. Badboy 1,526
As if we are going to swap one of the best young finishers in Europe for a 100 meter runner ! Sturridge shits all over Walcott at everything but pace and he's hardly lacking in that department either.
ja1 1,166
And was I the only one impressed with Sturridge against Napoli. His workrate and tracking back was the best I've seem him do all season BLionheart
Slam Dunk 1,442
Dont understand why we'd consider swapping one striker playing as a winger for a winger who wants to play as a striker. Ridiculous story.
rantdeville 195
You ever get that feeling...where ya feel the club is going to make a really really bad decision in the transfer market...??? As much as we shrug this off cuz its not "logical" for them to unload one of our prized assets for an underwhelming winger with fast feet, something tells me I'm gonna wake up one morning and it's gonna have happened. I feel that's how volatile and irrational our board can be.
