BlueLion. 21,491
There was nothing about us and Mata until last night, we come out of nowhere and ambush clubs by paying £10 million more than we need to.

the wes 7,212
Chelsea are prepared to test Lille's resolve by offering Gael Kakuta plus cash for £22m-rated Eden Hazard. The Blues are also in the market for coveted Valencia forward Juan Mata as they seek to bolster their options in wide areas but he could cost upwards of £30m. Negotiations are ongoing for the Spain international as well as for Tottenham creator Luka Modric though Hazard is being lined up as cover should either transfer fall through. The 20-year-old was a target for Chelsea in January only to see an undisclosed bid rejected. However, they believe they might have a way of resurrecting a potential deal after the Ligue 1 champions expressed an interest in taking Gael Kakuta on loan. Despite his talent, the young Frenchman is currently surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge with the club still considering him in the developmental stage of his career. The Londoners would prefer not to lose him on a permanent basis but are ready to use him as a makeweight to land Hazard.Another factor that Chelsea believe is in their favour is the growing amount of young Belgian stars in their ranks. Romelu Lukaku's transfer from Anderlect is all but complete while Thibault Courtois joined the club earlier this summer - albeit to be immediately loaned out to Atletico Madrid for two years. Genk's Kevin De Bruyne is also set to move to West London and the presence of his compatriots could persuade Hazard to make Stamford Bridge his next home ahead of interest from Arsenal. http://www.fanatix.com/news/chelsea-to-offer-young-star-as-bait-to-land-22m-playmake-244/ get the deal done my point a view Hazard is going to be a belter of a player........... Bosnian Blue 2,471
We should do a Barca buy-back clause there for Kakuta.

lionsden 4,689
Why buy 2 wingers when all we need. unless Ofcourse we still have some critic that doubts sturridge ability as an inverted RWF and would want him to rot on the bench or loaned out. Modric+Hazard is sufficient.

Modric+Hazard is sufficient.Sturridge is not a proper winger. But even then most big clubs have two wingers per position. We had it with Anelka and Kalou. Why can't we have Sturridge and a new one? Also Malouda and Yury. So get a new one as well to cover Yury spot?
lionsden 4,689
Sturridge is not a proper winger.AVB's system does not require a specialist winger like Robben or Sanchez. A technically gifted forward, which I believe Sturridge is, can easily adapt to the 4-3-3 system as he's already shown in Bolton and pre-season and if you need further prove, look no further than Hulk with porto last season, he isn't a proper winger neither but adapted well to AVB's system. But even then most big clubs have two wingers per position. We had it with Anelka and Kalou. Why can't we have Sturridge and a new one? Also Malouda and Yury. So get a new one as well to cover Yury spot?Because that would be a luxury purchase and given the new FFP rule, we need to spend wisely to comply with the FFP. Guest justin_3d
You got me with the FFP rule.I guess Mata will win, cause Valencia need the cash and are willing to sell him for the price. For me I would love Hazard over Mata. But won't complaint if we get Mata.

Me too. at this point in time, I would welcome any player.signing that can/would offer more than Malouda currently does on the left wing in terms of genuine width and creativity. SeB 1,281
Lille haven't really started well. Moving frome Lille to PSG, doesn't make sese because it's the same shit, same league. You know, Lille always start bad their seasons and they gain momentum after that, they often finish the season wellHow's he doing at Gala?I explained a bit in his topic, during the season I did chat with Fener fans and they said me that the team wasn't working because they were a lot of individuals playing on their own (that's why Fener was crashed out the CL or the EL by a poor team). They said me that he was adaptating to the country, that he wasn't the first choice and that his appeareances on the left wing were not fully convincing, not regular...He will certainly be better this season, but I think Chelsea made the right choice to let him go, I don't think he could be a top team's player...The French league has given us some great players over the years so it can't be that bad.Be carefull, they are also a lot of crap players such as Gignac, Gomis, Marveaux, Obertan... Like every championship, there is some gems and some wet crackers.I would be over the moon if Hazard signs, he has a huge potential but's it's too early for him to go. This season, he was awarded the Player of the Season award whereas Gervinho was in front of him in terms of contribution to the results of the team, even if the ivoirian is not a fantastic winger, his play is stereotyped...But Hazard has to gain more importance in the team, he has to be able to carry his team, and influing more on the results of the team and in the same time, suffering less the form of the team (not that he is irregular, but when his team required the plus because it was not a good day, he wasn't present everytime). He has a lot of talent, he seems to have a good mentality either. He is a gem, he has a lot of work to become a great player but he has the potential.Rudi Garcia said last year that he does not have seen yet the limits of Hazard. The club seems to be really after him, in February l'Equipe said that Chelsea tried an approach for Hazard and Lille's sporting director said that he was shocked that Chelsea could have approach the player before the club. And it's also well known that Hazard is scouted oftenlyNo need to translate this one, it's the teaser for the newspaper reading that Roman has a lot of money and that Hazard spoke to his agent etc... craphttp://www.lequipe.f...ar-chelsea.htmlAnd this is the reaction of Lille Sporting Director saying that he wants to keep the squad and Hazardhttp://www.lequipe.f...s-a-vendre.htmlThe only interesting thing is that it seems to be a real starting point, it's not a tale from the newspaper
