Is it potentially the worst time to join them? I do think Sarri needs to get hold of him and have a meeting with him first. Give Hazard his ideas and sell him the dream and see where his head is at afterwards. Also as you have said, Madrid have yet to suggest a big is coming in for him. All valid points but if he's genuinely torn about this, why does he keep on telling Real to come get him? It unlikely isn't an easy decision but he's gotta make the hard choice on what he really wants. Like I said above, we are not in the process of choosing between his mom and dad! Sideshow Luiz 2,310
Impossible to replace. Though, if he doesn't sign by the end of the window, we have to really consider selling him. But, we need to buy replacements first. Unfortunately, I have no idea who those could be. Everyone we could get is young and kind of unproven (much like Hazard was).  Every time I've seen Asensio, he hasn't impressed me. Don't see the hype. Belgiannutt 3,201
Maybe i'm reading to much into it but the "if they want to let me go" part does seem to indicate that he isn't going to push for a deal and is putting the decision in our hands. Same with me in regards to Asensio. Shown flashes of brilliance but would be a massive gamble. Isco would definitely ease the pain for most of our fans because he's super skillful and flashy. But again, he seems like an impossible target. Supermonkey92

I think Isco is out of bounds as well. I think we'd be in the Pulisic kind of range. Barca went out and got Dembele, which was a gamble. But, it's easy to gamble when you have Suarez and Messi. how wrong could it possibly go? Look at the numbers somebody like Insigne has put up for Sarri, and obviously Mertens as well. It's not ideal by any stretch but if Sarri can get us going I do think the blow could be softened somewhat. Shakez 755
This is the full context of the quote: "I will go on holiday and ask myself the right questions. After six wonderful years at Chelsea, it might be time to discover something different. I can decide if I want to stay or go, but Chelsea will make the final decision – if they want to let me go. For my career, certainly after this World Cup, I’m at a moment where I might change. We all know that I’ve always felt well at Chelsea, and I’ve been linked to all the big clubs. Next week it will be Bayern (Munich). No I’m joking. You all know my preferred destination. We knew for a while that Sarri was going to become the new manager. Now it’s official. If he’s a good manager? If he lets me win trophies, yes. Dries Mertens has said its a good manager. We will have to work hard. The Italian way, but we were used to that with Antonio Conte too. We will see what happens." Isn't this the same he's been saying since may?

Pulisic would be super underwhelming for me, and I'm American. I think he's super overhyped. If he was another nationality I don't think he'd get much attention at all. People would say he's a solid player but not much more. Because he's the most talented American in years he has everyone fawning over him. Someone mentioned Bailey and Martial. I'd settle for those two before Pulisic. Both have huge ceilings and would be actually obtainable. pHaRaOn and Supermonkey92

He was Lopetegu's star player in spain and as Madrid manager now he won't let him go. Kovacic on the other hand is a realistic target and we should aim for him if Hazard leaving is inevitable. 11Drogba

This to be fair is far softer than the shortened quote given which almost sounded like a transfer request. As some have said on here, i think he'll assess his options and see if Madrid come in first. They'll have to be quick mind because there is no way we're selling once our transfer window closes. Supermonkey92

The Skipper 20,609
Yeah, full quote seems a lot softer. I reckon Sarri can win him around and make him stay. It’s basically Conte’s fault he didn’t sign a contract earlier last season when it looked like he would. Supermonkey92 and Shakez

For me, Martial has to play in the middle, I think he's a bit wasted out wide. Not sold on Bailey yet.

Highest dribble success rate in Laliga last season, He's can play higher up the pitch easily, especially in the Hamsik role. 11Drogba
BMox81 193
I’ve been preparing for Hazard to leave for the last two years now so while it’ll obviously be sad to see him go, it isn’t unexpected news him coming out with these comments. He’s always wanted the Madrid move and ultimately the player gets what they want. As long as we get an acceptable fee then it will be cheerio Eden. Supermonkey92 1,428
I'd love Isco in midfield with Jorginho and Kante. Then have a wide forward play Hazards position  under Sarri. Many here are saying Isco is no chance though. Fuck Ascensio that guy looks average every time I watch him. There's no one else is have from Madrid. Bale is too injury prone. The rest of their best players are CM's. The more I think about it. The probability of Madrid coming in for him is far from certain. Isco, Ascensio, Bale and James (who I've heard the new manager rates) are essentially vying for 3 spots max. The only one they would probably sell is James and this club is STUPID to get him. Not the player for the PL. Too slow. But even if we get James, for the sake of argument, one of the other three will HAVE to be on the bench. That won't be Isco, but the other two have come out and said they will leave if they remain bench warmers. Here's the problem as I see it. If Hazard comes, one or two or Ascensio, Bale and James leaves. And I would have none of them. Superblue
