Do all of the European transfer windows shut at the same time? I could've sworn each league had their own individual periods since they all start at different times?

I think some Eastern European countries have a couple of extra days but the big leagues shut tommorow, I could be wrong and never checked for sure but I think that is the case.

So then I guess that does make this even less likely, huh? Unless they've been eyeing another CB for a while and can push everything through in a single day there's no way they'll have a replacement in time.

Losing faith in the board day by day. All over twitter Chelsea fans have been rejoicing saying we need to bring him back, i cant get my head around it. Most only want him back because of his leadership/personality and "that performance in Munich" which lets not forget we had 11 players behind the ball protecting him. As a defender he's a walking disaster, mistake after mistake and i have to say he's easily one of the most overrated 'ball playing defender' on the planet, cant forget the amount of times he used to hoof to ball up to no one, time after time. PSG fans will agree, go on to their website and the general consensus is that the news is too good to be true. We're desperate but i'd rather wait until Jan if it means we're going to spend £30+million on a 29 year old defender who is just as/more error prone than the defenders we already have.

Fucking shambles.

Serge Aurier can play CB in a pinch and they got Meunier to cover at RB. Its likely not to happen but it could... Not hard to get a third of fourth choice CB

Not sure, deadline day is a busy for a reason, a lot of openings can get created, none more so than Ozil and Falcao.

It boggles the mind that people on here are actually celebrating the possibility of this happening. In 3 years we'll be looking for another defender again

holy shit people here really think that we are title contenders? after just 3 games? and two of them vs potentially relegation battlers. you seem to forget that how much we struggled in the first two games. it takes one great game to all of sudden become title contenders.  come on, same shit happened this summer like last years. board is incapable of signing good players. we're looking like fools with signings like marcos alonso and 29yo david luiz. and more so with the now absurd situation that we cant buy a fucking cb and fullback for two months. we all call ourselves a big club, but the way our club handle transfers, we rather look like some god damn fools. and appereantly money isn't the problem. so what is it? just compare how are we dealing with transfers and how bayern, juventus or atletico deals. everyone was laughing at manchester that they splashed 120+ million euros at pogbas transfer, well guess what everyone forgot about it now.

sure, kante is playing really well, thank god. but dont forget how matic played when he came. or how hazard was playing two seasons ago and after that he looked like marko marin. things can happen, players can drop in form and then we will not pull out a late winner. and suddenly we will start to lose at southampton or draw with everton at home. then it will be ivanovic's fault, or oscars as it usually is.

our defense is just horrible. we celebrate like we won the champions league when we have a clean sheet. it's absurd. we are one injury away in the defense from seeing fucking hector in the game.

and this logic 'if conte wants him, so be it' is fucking bullshit. you would justify if we payed 35 million pounds for johnny evans only because conte wants him. we had a world class manager last year too, one of the reasons why he (we) failed completely was the incompetence of the board.

Buy K2 for around 55 mil +bonuses and hopefully we have what Conte wants for a new CB.

As the guy said above, David Luiz is a damn shambles. What, we pay more than 30 mil for a Brazilian personality with poor footballing skills? Someone else needs to have the leadership skills, or just keep J.T. on the payroll indefinitely to fire up the squad. Part of me thinks that the move would be nothing more than to fire up the Brazilian players and keep Diego Costa under some sort of control. Trouble connecting, communicating and motivating Brazilian players? Just dump the lot.   FFS.

No more David Luiz, pleez.

If he comes back, this the Chelsea temporary fix for having lack of positive personality and leadership among the Portuguese-speakers in the squad, and for falling out of the CL spots. But why even bother? Just pay the money for K2!

With the new TV money, etc, everyone knows PL clubs are being robbed by European clubs because they "can". So, you almost have to completely forget the fees paid for players anymore in any comparative conversations. So, 30 million today, is like 20 million 2 years ago, like 15 million 5 years ago, etc.

So, setting the fee to the side, given we could not pry our top targets away from their clubs as we would not pay insane fees for them, what is Conte to do? Sit around and just go, "well, we did not get our top 3 targets, so let us do nothing"? If the club was deep, probably would be a good answer.

However, we all know how thin we are at the back. No guarantee Zuoma comes back in his prior form. We are an injury or two back there from playing some real untested players that would be a disaster.

Would you really rather have Miazga on the pitch over Luiz? Really?

In midfield, an injury to Matic or Cesc, would you really want Mikel back in there or Luiz? Keep in mind, Conte had Matic playing way up the pitch. Luiz could do well in that role.

Sure, we would have preferred our top targets. But are we really going to pay 70 million, 80 million, etc for them? No way. We cannot make the other club deal with us.

So, given the circumstances, Luiz would be a decent addition. No one said he would start every game. Probably would start 25% or less. But he would give us depth. Conte would coach him up in my opinion and have him more forward unless in at CB due to injury.

Sure, he can be a bit of a sideshow at times, but always a fan favorite and I think his energy would further Conte's methods. I liked him when he was here before, but I know his limitations and what you are getting. If true, then I say welcome back David!

Again, no one at the club would be saying, hey here is the guy leading us to the title. It would bring us decent depth. It would not be the first time we have paid 20-30 million for a non-starter, see Cuadrado, Pedro, etc.

Come on you Chelsea!!

I don't know why you people like to judge Luiz by his performances under Mourinho, when his confidence was low, his position wasn't clear for anyone and everyone (including him) knew that the Portuguese didn't like him.

He was fantastic when PSG played us. His technique is amazing for a defender, he likes having the ball and if these are the qualities that Conte's looking for, then why not?

As per the money we're offering, grow up already. We sold the guy for 50m and now you want to buy him for what? 5m? It would be great business if it happens, in terms of money.
