David Luiz

Please quote me when I said he is useless as a centre-back.

For the record, he's useless as a centre-back. Ivanovic and Cahill are our best pairing.

Never said you did but there you go. I don't think Ivanovic and Cahill are our best pair at all, that goes to Luiz and Terry for me. Obviously there's a massive gulf of difference between opinion here so we'll just agree to disagree.

It's sensible. You play the dynamic, attacking 'defensive' midfielder against the shit teams. You then have an extra attacker and are bound to win handsomely. Just like what happened against Villa.

Then you play the defensive midfielder in the big games against the good teams, where you need positional discipline.

Ergo, against the Villas of this world we'll see Luiz in midfield. When Manchester United come knocking, he can warm the bench and Mikel can have a game.

Spot on!!

I've said exactly this a lot of times.

Mikel against the top teams which attack more, and luiz against smaller teams for trashing.

For the record Cahill is by far the worst CB since Boulahourz, but the dutch could play also as a full back, so he was more useful. Luiz as a CB play really good the big games, while Cahill used to fuck everythig in the big games.

I'm happy both RDM and Benitez realiazed it, since Cahill is always the last option for that position.

He started his career as a midfielder but nearly got realized due to poor performances in that position.

I actually think Rafa has been clever putting him in against teams who won't attack us that much, but there was a reason he wasn't put there against Corinthians. CB is still is best position for me.

It seems you dont know that much about Luiz. João Paulo, his coach at that time, realized he was strugling to play with his back to the opponent, because he was still growing up. Yeah, he was 17 years old. So I dont know why you are talking about this, because right now he is 25 years old.

Perhaps I'm funny, but I think we should have more english players like Lampard, Terry and Joe Cole, so avarage players like Cahill dont get overrated. Cahill is like Huth.

Take your time to read this, you will have lots of fun, but at least you will realize the same things I say about Cahill right now, are almost the same things this guy was saying about him almost one year ago when he still was a Bolton defender:

I'm really coming round to this guy. When Jelavic strikes his free-kick, Luiz actually tries to stick his face in front of the ball. Look at the likes of Wilshere or Nasri who duck out of the way - I want guys in the team who will do that for their teammates and for the badge.

He seemed to be everywhere on the pitch. Still makes mistakes with poor touches and misplaced passes too frequently to be considered 'very good' but it is only his second PL game in midfield. I am sure he will improve that aspect of his game and thought he was excelled at breaking play up, even at times if it was somewhat cynical.
