Lol this just actually just proves that Abramovich is really really close to Putin... Someone who is not close to him, wouldn't be anywhere near these peace talks. Not saying Abramovich has any direct impact on war, but his relationship to Putin is close.

of course, yet I have seen so many deny it for ages, no matter how much evidence I provide

Long ago I said Candy should join with Boehly

Candy is a master at building huge projects, and he was easily the one most talking how important it was to build a WC, non cut-rate stadium (he said it would take around £2 billion to do it right, which is correct) plus he is connected AF and is a monster Chels fan

Boehly is a genius at club building, the LA Dodgers are the best run baseball team in the world, and I get super good vibes off him

Wyss is also connected as well, and is old (87) so isn't going to fuck around

and they have a huge money supply to call up in in Clearlake Capital (£60n in assets and they DO spend and build, they are not a slash and burn merchant like Bain)

I see no reason why Candy and Catalina Kim (and her massive Korean connections, plus the fact she is a top football agent) could not have replaced the Spuds fan Jonathan Goldstein.

I would LOVE to have that team as our owners

This isnt solely for him. The dodgers are an American institution. They were well run long before Boehly was born.

non sequitur

I never claimed they were not well run in the past, nor did I say Boehly was the sole reason for their success

I just like his vision

Im meh on him. I only want him if its a choice between him and the POS rickety family.

I know how sports are run from an American view though and I dont think many people will have the stomach for it.

Because a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) is registered with the SEC and is a publicly-traded company, the general public can buy its shares before the merger or acquisition takes place. For this reason they've been referred to as the 'poor man's private equity funds.'

Academic analysis shows the investor returns on SPACs post-merger are almost uniformly heavily negative (however, sponsors at the flotation of the SPAC can earn excess returns), and their proliferation usually accelerates around periods of economic bubbles, such as the 'everything bubble' in 2020–2021, when the volume and quantity of capital raised by SPACs set new all-time records.

A SPAC is what Trump is using for his scam Twitter clone social network.

Ranking the Chelsea bidders by chance of f***ing the club up

https://www.football365.com/news/abramovich-takeover-ranking-Chelsea-bidders

snip

1) The Ricketts family
It may have just been me, but my impression of the Ricketts was clouded by their first statement of intent to buy Chelsea. They referred to themselves as ‘The Ricketts Family’ rather than ‘the Ricketts family’. Semantics, maybe, but it immediately conveyed a sense of entitlement – that they see themselves as a goddamn American institution ready to rescue this English soccer team.

As patriarch Joe Ricketts’ racist emails re-emerged and #NoToRicketts trended on social media, Little Lord F*ckleroy Tom Ricketts insisted his father deeply regretted saying ‘Muslims are my enemy’ and assured Chelsea fans the old geezer would have nothing to do with running the club.

But apologies and assurances shouldn’t be enough for a club that, despite its many deplorable acts, has made a name for itself as a leader of inclusivity. As the elder of a fictional American family-run multinational might say: “F*ck off!

£1 billion isn't going to remotely come close for a new stadium, and that is not even counting the nebulous 'investing in the club' which means transfers, etc etc

what a farce

Here in the US more than 50% of the stadium recently built by the NFL were funded by tax payers/ government, what is the law in England regarding stadium subsidy.

that is not done in the UK

It also is very destructive in the US, as often it is a scam that benefits the billionaire class at the expense of the taxpayers (lol at RWers in the US who call us 'socialists')

The US is the biggest socialist nation on the planet, it is just CORPORATE socialism:

Privatise all profits

Socialise as much losses as possible

Use government money to aid your privatised profits whenever possible

Always strive for regulatory capture:
