You can go do us all favor by helping to negotiate with Porto a decent price for Moutinho.

Would love to. Unfortunately, to negotiate with Pinto da Costa is more annoying than reading "The Madrid One's" arguments.

Didn't know that, oh well, good move from them, he looks excellent. We shouldn't keep missing out on these players. If we really want a RB, don't wait til someone else gets him, go out and get one. Anyway back to topic.... Moutinho is class, we should be serious and think about him, honestly. He dictates games and his passing is exceptional.

As said before, don't think many of us would mind him here IF you can help us to negotiate with Porto. I'm sure they will be hike up his price after his performances in EURO 2012.

Everyone has a price. I'm sure if he knows we're interested he might make waves and unsettle Porto, make a transfer request etc. At least we need to make our interest known.

Hulk has been making noise but Porto are still playing hardball over the transfer.

For now. He's not allowed to leave until July 1st and Porto know they still have about 7 weeks til the season starts so they can do what they want. When the time gets near, they'll cave in.

Yeah but only problem is should we be wasting our time with Porto? They might not even want to sell him to us in the end. Even Moutinho himself said he wouldn't mind staying at Porto till the end of his career. Think it's best to get in all the wanted players ASAP so that the squad will be settled and get into gear when the season starts.

Agreed, no more last minute transfers, offer what we think is the most we can pay and if not successful, move on.

A host of Premier League clubs are ready to do battle for the signature of Portugal midfielder Joao Moutinho.

Prospective new Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas wants the 25-year-old to become his first White Hart Lane signing by replacing the outgoing Luka Modric.

But Villas-Boas, who signed Moutinho for Porto back in 2010, will have to convince the player to choose Spurs over Champions League trio Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea.

Liverpool are also interested in the former Sporting Lisbon man, who impressed at Euro 2012 before Portugal's semi-final elimination at the hands of Spain.

Moutinho has a £40million buy-out clause in his contract, and Porto are thought to want around £32m for their star man.

Do so many people want him because he was good at the Euro, or because he really good with Porto ? Because, it is never a wise thing to sign players only based on what they did in international competitions.

If they're roughly the same price i would take modric - premier league proven and would clearly weaken spurs as he is their main man and they won't replace him adequately IMO whilst tight ass levy pulls the strings.

One would think 32million is the least Porto want for him and if we were to negotiate with them for Moutinho, pretty sure they would hike up the price to somewhere close to 40million, especially after his performances in EURO 2012.

I heard he was good before the Euros so Im guessing that he plays well for Porto.
