Will we ever have a great striker partnership?

Has there ever was or will ever be a better partnership then the old good Gudjohnsen & Hasselbaink?

I was hoping that Sturridge and Lukaku could be that, but for now is just a dream. Lukaku gets no time, and Sturridge has been playing as a winger.

And with RDM style of 4-2-3-1 it seems like the two striker position is slowly dying out. :(

The whole world seems to be shifting from 4-4-2 and its variants to 4-5-1 and its variants. I blame Spain and Barcelona. Striking partnerships will become even more rare than they are today in 5-6 years time, imo. Which in turn could lead to 3 man defences.

A striking partnership needn't be limited to forwards. Would you for instance not call Torres and Gerrard a striking partnership for Liverpool?

What have you done, J? There's something strange about your posts, I can't put my finger on it but you have changed something.

Back on topic, I don't think so about Torres/Gerrard. Rooney/Hernandez is the only striking partnership of late I can think of.

Sturridge will never work in a striker companionship, so yall can just forget him in that equation. UNLESS he becomes less selfish and works on assists more.

Possibly, in the future, Torres+Lukaku. Or Torres and some new signing.

He had a great partnership with Kevin Davis.
