A sad day for gamers :(

Video game retailer, Game Group, has gone into administration, with the immediate closure of 277 stores in the UK and Ireland.

Administrators PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) said 2,104 employees would be made redundant this week.

The remaining 333 stores will stay open as the administrators search for a buyer for the business.

PwC said that the retailer had suffered from high fixed costs and an ambitious international expansion.

I personally enjoyed the pre-owned versions, but i go for Cash Generators for that now-a-days. Guess, like what has already been, sites like Amazon completely own them on prices - like by a £5 for each new game, or something along those lines!

Shame, my mate worksed for them. WHS is right though, online retailers have blown them out the water, places like Play, Amazon even Zavvi's cheaper sometimes.

Don't forget the supermarkets as well, I normally get my current gen games from my local ASDA.. the games they sell I can get for a real cheap price!
