About Capello, i would take him in a heartbeat. He is the best italian manager, no doubt. He's been succes everywhere and he don't tolerate "player power", perfect transition manager.Capello for 2 years will build such a good foundations that even AVB will be success.

Granted,Capello is a terrific manager but all of us want managerial longevity and I don't think a 65 year old can offer that.

Yep, RDM hasn't been tested in all aspects of a manager yet. I hope he's good in the market, and has new season plans of chemistry and a brand new game plan next season to take it on by storm. That's why we can't just give him the job and expect us to go out and win the league with over 100 points. I think he's proved to us that he means something to the players and can motivate them into getting a result, but that is not all you can rely on in football, look at Kenny Dalglish and Redknapp, they can only talk to there players. But they don't have a fucking clue how to play football though, all Redknapp knows is, is attack attack attack, he's got the tactical approach of a Championship manager.

At Chelsea the manager doesn't have a say on transfer targets anyway so it wouldn't matter if he's clueless in the market. :Goober:

They do, Ron Gourlay will just be a dick about it, AVB experessed who he wanted. The board wanted Modric i think, so Ron Gourlay decides to put 23 million, then upper the price then upper it and upper it till Spurs know they can get a really high amount off us.

All of our best coaches have been the good man-management types such as Mourinho, Hiddink and Ancelloti. And that is what the club needs, we just don't suit those manager types who like full control so the likes of Capello really won't be much good. Like someone says, its the club that identifies most of our targets anyway and it is for the manager to give the ok. And imo i think RDM will be perfect for this supposed rebuild, one of his strengths is communicating with the players and thats what we'll need in the rebuild to tell the likes of Lamps that he won't be playing as much and to explain why he's been dropped. He's already shown at WBA that he can play good football as they played with an attractive style. I have a feeling that Roman will give him a one year deal, as its likely that Pep and maybe Mourinho will be available in a year. If he does a good job then his deal will be extended, if it fails then he'll go for pep. That's my take on it anyway

Thank fuck. Pep would be a disaster the likes of which we have never seen in football, he'd make Benitez's Inter look brilliant.

I dont know why sometimes you come with this kind of garbage. Its easier to say: "I want RDM to stay".

He would be AVB MkII, just with more respect from the players. Our squad is just not capable of playing tiki-taka, and Pep is not capable of changing his philosophy. The only clubs he can go to and do that are probably Arsenal and to a lesser extent, Roma.

You need an exceptional attack, capable of outscoring nearly any opponent, to play that high line, 3-4-3 shit with one recognised centre back. We don't, and virtually nobody else does other than Barcelona.
