BlueLion. 21,491
I'll back Terry until he's proven guilty, but people are taking this with a pinch of salt because he is a Chelsea player, whereas we all want Suarez banned for his comments. I'm not condemning Terry - not yet, anyway. But I won't be comfortable with him being our team captain, regardless of everything he has done for us. I will always support him but I will never again admire and respect him how I previously have done. If Terry is proven to be in the wrong he should be stripped of the Chelsea captaincy and it be given to a true professional.
termninja 5,290
Disgraceful...even if JT is proven guilty though, I won't believe that he is a racist, just that he said something racistic out of anger. I refuse to believe that one of the biggest football stars in the world and with some much experience has racistic views despite playing with some much black players throughout his career...if he said it though, he should be punished and he should say goodbye to captain's armband also.We have loads of important matches coming and our captain and defensive leader is being investigated by police while our defense is at the times looking worse then Arsenal's...lovely.Well, AVB is about to find out how tough is it to be a Chelsea manager I won't even think about the message we will be sending if when JT is proven guilty.... CHOULO19 24,332
Captaincy, in my opinion, is not just about professionalism. Don't get me wrong, I love Frank Lampard more than any other Chelsea player, but I don't think he's captain material. I agree JT lacks class, but sometimes that's exactly what a true captain has to be to go up to the ref and make his point heard, or push his teammates to give more, or shout at a defender for making a mistake.Regarding what he potentially said, I don't think he is a racist but rather untactful. francozola 2,040
I really thought that it was just a media witch hunt, which is still is, but with this latest rumour that he's going to get charged by the police... it's disappointing. He's let the club down again if trueWe know that JT isn't a racist, but he should not be saying this shit at all, let alone in a football match watched by millions. Badboy 1,526
This is the guy who slept with the mother of Wayne Bridge's son, he has no morals and he does not give a fuck who he hurts he is an asshole. If he can humiliate his wife and kids in front of the world like that to the extent that they lock themselves in a hotel in the Emirates then this asshole can do anything. He will do something stupid next season too, he is just a homegrown fuck up.

LDN Blue 7,903
Sigh..What a way to tarnish a, what's been, successful career with utter stupidity in the last 2-3years. He had it all. Chelsea captaincy, England captaincy, trophies, a great squad, a lovely family & great friends. Now what? He's been tried left-right-centre. He's always slipping up in the media spotlight & he's causing a great deal of shame to country & club. Yes perhaps the media are quick to lay it on him. But come on, he's the ENGLAND captain. Of course his actions are supposed to be moral. It's not like Rio escaped scrutiny after his missed drugs test & ect.Beckham was a great England captain. He was accused by that Loose girl for an affair, which was thoroughly denied. Aside from that, he's been an icon in the game. Set up schools around the country, promoted the spirit of the game & remained respectful to the duty of being England captain.

I still remember the story about him saving his old childhood club Senrab or something. But he knows he's a role model & should've kept his life clean. Of course he's only human and everyone makes a mistake, however these are levels which are immature & just so easy to get caught out in. Blue Armour 4,439
Irregardless of what he's done in the past, I feel that this one incident is perhaps taking things too far...If he did say it (which most likely seems the outcome) I would say he was just tactless, and a bit of an idiot (not the first time JT has blurted out something) to risk losing his armband. There absolutely no chance in the blue hell that this incident would make his stature diminish in my eyes, because from what I've seen in the past JT doesn't come close to being a racist. manpe 10,861
I'm just so sad over what's happening. Not even angry, but sad. Sad to read that this obvious farce has turned some of our fans against him, sad that this minor slip-up may cost him his captaincy, sad to see his reputation being finally destroyed.I became a Chelsea fan when I watched a random football game on TV, it was a long time ago and Chelsea were playing... I switched to that channel the moment Terry leaped over a big bloke and won the header and then clapped and shouted at other players for motivation. It was HIS passion that got me interested in this sport and in Chelsea. I just can't believe it all comes down to this.
francozola 2,040
Told myself I wouldn't judge him til it was proven, but some of our fans' blind faith in him is crazy. Like I said, he isn't a racist. But that doesn't mean it's ok to say what he's allegedly said

But that doesn't mean it's ok to say what he's allegedly saidIf you're hinting with "blind faith" at me apart from others, then I'm obviously disappointed in him in hindsight... He made a kinda wrong statement after that incident and you shouldn't use those words with cameras at every corner. He made a human mistake like we all do, with the exception of not having cameras and a million eyes watching. But the way it has turned out to be, this makes me sad... and all in all I don't believe that he's racist (I've already explained what racism means to me, and it's much more serious than calling someone black in the heat of a moment), instead I remember the times when he stood in our goal when Cudi and Cech got injured, when he got kicked in the face by Diaby, the countless goal-line clearances, his self-sacrificing challenges. Amidst the shit I am keen to remember him for the good, not for some truly unique and isolated situations blown up by media.@Ultra Blue: Yeah, he can be too rash. Not many people are good at containing their emotions... Terry is one of them. Lampard for example is the opposite. I still love JT though... disappointed, but still. Police have charged him like they charge any suspect. His fate will be decided in the court. I dont know if the court is going to get some lip reading expert. Usually if there is even a slightest of doubt the Court doest not hold the suspect guilty. It is a shame that Chelsea fans are falling for this Anti-JT media frenzy. And like I said, I too don't believe he's a racist. He's just a really really dumb person. He should know that being captain of his club and country, being a "role model", he needs to keep his emotions in check. Yes I know his emotion makes him the player that he is, but if he really did use the word "black" then it's really really stupid of him to do so and there is no excuse. Use the word cunt or wanker or whatever but when you bring in a person's race or sexuality or whatever of that nature, it's crossing the line. Even if it's just said without actually meaning it, it's still wrong and should be stamped outStill support him until there's been a decision made either way. and he will still be a legend in my eyes for what he's done on the pitch, which you've already describedDo think BB has taken it a bit too far with the JT abuse
