Cahill's ability on the ball is average at best and with Everton and Wolves playing a more progressive style, he's not going to suit their defence or be first choice.

Perhaps but Zouma is hardly better on the ball and he played every week at Everton. The guys a French international and he looks below bang average on the ball.

He's a lot quicker and arguably more mobile than Cahill at the very least.

Yes true but you need more than that. Which is why I still have doubts regarding Kurt, he was good when he broke in with Jose here but he did always rely on pace to bail him out. Positionally he improved at Stoke and Everton a bit but playing CB for them and for Chelsea is a different thing altogether. Dont think pre season has gave anybody a huge chunk of confidence either, the whole back 4 in general. Would of took 40m off Everton for him in a heartbeat and rathered Tomori who looks more comfortable positionally.

Are we talking about Cahill here or Zouma? I'm not convinced by Zouma either and think he's a bit of disaster waiting to happen, especially when paired with Luiz.

Zouma. Definitely agree on that. Luiz is probably gonna be an undoubted started too....

Think his experience and leadership has helped Palaces backline and also his individual performances this season have been good. Good to see hes getting regular minutes, we all know he didnt maybe play as often or as well in the last 2 seasons here as he could have but Palace suit him down to the ground.
