Popular Post! Spike 12,049 Posted August 4, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted August 4, 2014 People clearly assuming that Frank had a choice in choosing his own loanee club when he joined New York , a team owned by City..Of course he has a choice. He can just say "I don't want to be loaned at all". 11Drogba, Ainsley Harriott, The Skipper and 6 others

Or not sign for the City family in the first place. This is a guy who supposedly has a high I.Q, and people suppose he was naive enough to think this wasn't inevitable. This is not a wage slave/real world employee situation, this is a special case; in which the current board of Chelsea are not the bottom line. Nobody forced him to sign for a City affiliated club in the first place, this loan conundrum has been created by Frank, he's not a victim of it. hjperdeath 2,226
Because he can't hire a personal trainer or stay fit by himself?I'm talking about match fit man. quite a large difference. it's a common misconception trust me. I've seen players stay fit with personal coaches and when they make a return to football after 8-9 months, their legs feel wobbly, they don't feel right chasing a ball and they always think thrice before making a pass. They are at the end of the day humans.

He's not a victim for joining a team that recognized him with a proper contract.Part of Frank Lampard's 'brand' and why he's the figure he is, is because he's marketed himself as 'proper chels' like John Terry. The same reason Gerrard's face is all over the Liverpool pencil cases and bed spreads. This guy is a fraud, not just a judas.. he hasn't handled himself with class or shown respect to the fans since leaving. He told people he would never join another PL club, he stressed how difficult it would be. Whatever beef he has with the current board is not as far as Chelsea stretches, he should have thought about his legacy and the fans. Beepu 1,714
I would think that he chose City because he wants to stay close to his family since he is a human being with a life beyond football.I don't like him coming to city but the reactions here are over the top, people take football way too seriously sometimes. hjperdeath 2,226
6 months, wrap up everything you have left in England with your family, and then move together to New York rather than hurrying things. Decision made by a man who puts his family first. A human being. Spike

What the fuck did Frank think was going to happen when he signed for a City owned club that doesn't exist yet.

Popular Post! The Mak 4,459 Posted August 4, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted August 4, 2014 You mean simplistic, not simple.Melbourne is a stupidly long commute for a man with a young family in this country and he clearly as aspirations to play internationally still so why wouldn't he push himself at the highest level - the PL and Champions League?Do not give me the 'aspirations' crap. He is moving to the MLS. He is basically semi-retired already. Anyway, it seems contradictory for those backing Lampard's decision to have the rationale 'he won't play many games' and 'he aspires to be at the top level' while also knowing where he'll be 6 months from now. You saying 'he wants to push himself at the highest level' implies he's actually signed for City and will be playing week in, week out when it couldn't be further from the truth. He is being used, simple as that. Oh wait, I'm sure training with Manchester City makes him sharper or some shit. Yeah, you're right, I'm sure he always 'aspired' to train there to simply fill their HG quota...It's crystal clear that these were the terms of signing for NYC in the first place. I severely doubt they were the only ones in line to pay him top dollar...but he chose them anyway. That is why people are reacting the way they are. Yeah, you're right, I'm sure he always 'aspired' to train there to simply fill their HG quota...I personally believe that he'll play a fair few games which keeps him in Hodgson's mind going forward especially with Gerrard and Cole having retired.Either way, his legacy is undamaged. He's a legend at Stamford Bridge and that won't change because a few people get their knickers in a twist in 140 characters or less.
The only place to be 11,313
Because he can't hire a personal trainer or stay fit by himself? You do realise he could have been just as easily loaned to Melbourne City?No offence but Melbourne City isn't the same as the Premier League Champions or Champions League football. As for hiring a personal trainer, it's not the same as the competitive environment of a club. Again, these are arguments that are being brought up which are simply not realistic and require a slight willing ignorance to entertain.I would think that he chose City because he wants to stay close to his family since he is a human being with a life beyond football.I don't like him coming to city but the reactions here are over the top, people take football way too seriously sometimes. His family life is clearly important to him and there's a great deal of difference between six months in England as opposed to six months in Australia. Now I'm sure some kiddywinks will raise the point that he is now working in New York, but plenty of grown men do that. It's not a tricky commute to make.
