Henrique 9,133
Premature. the season is still young. He will bounce back as he always does. A typical fanboy post.
Magic Lamps 11,692
A typical fanboy post.Whatever. I don't think I have to be sorry for believing in a player. When that makes me a fanboy, so be it.
ChelseasMessiah 304
People forget he's 35, he shouldn't be playing football at this level that frequently and should be nowhere near the first 11, not because of lack of will or lack of skill or ability, as he always gives his best for our shirt, but he's no longer physically capable of producing the high level performances required, especially in a position that we all know is alien to him.I always wish him luck though and if he plays today I hope he bags a few. ChelseasMessiah 304
For Frank and our's sake, he cannot play in these games any more. And people laughed when I said he'd get annihilated agains Spurs new breed of midfielders. He never had mobility as a strength, image now at 35. English Freak
nono 791
Very poor again. Mourinho's favorite starter.
CHOULO19 24,332
I think Jose wanted him today so that he can play long balls behind the Tottenham defense, but it didn't work too well apart form a couple of balls early in the first half. Stats 7,142
I can't see how people say he was poor. He was poor first half like the rest of the team but second half improved by miles. Won tackles, played decent passes and contributed like the rest of the team to our brilliant second half performance.

No need for that as Luiz can do it much better. The Skipper

We wanted those long balls on the counter, not when we have possession high up the pitch. Anyway, Frank didn't do too well either.
Phil Driver 503
Frank and Rammy bossed the midfield in the second half ,we took the game to Spurs they worked as a pair ,nobody was hanging back filling gaps that we make for ourselves by errrrr...... hanging back and leaving your partner in midfield isolated . All of a sudden Spurs midfield were filling gaps and not marking our runners in the second half ,that does tend to happen when you take the game to the opposition rather than errrrr.... sitting back and let them attack you and control the midfield . Magic Lamps 11,692
Apart from the first 25 minutes, Our pivot absolutely dominated Spurs midfield. "getting annhilated" lol. Could not be further away from the truth.
Phil Driver 503
Watched the full game on TV now and him and Rammy were superb in the second half, dominated the Spurs midfield, why?,because they worked together and pushed Spurs back ,not one of them just sitting and letting the other battle alone. Lamps won a lot of tackles second half, him and Rammy bossed it.

What an absoloute lod of bull,Mikel was annihalated first half he has no mobility and strength ,second half Frank and Rammy bossed it ,but either would have been annihalated on their own against them with Mikel hanging back and slowing the play down, allowing the Spurs midfield to dominate. Watch the match again and the evidence will surely outweigh your pre judgements and then you were mad enough to claim you were right . ChelseasMessiah 304
Hi Phil, I hold my hands up and say that in the second half our Frank was much much better with the help of Ramires. But that's always the thing with Frankie, in his prime, he was an utter star, but at 35 his mobility is mostly gone, and in those two pivots we can't afford to have a lack of physical prowess against the top sides, it's not his fault, it's not him being lazy or slacking around not caring, he cares more than others, but age is catching up with him. You are dead right ,hence we need Mikel nowhere near a pivot place at Chelsea. You must always remember Jose's words he watches the player not the birth certificate ,as I do ,you will be told when Lampard is finished and it is not yet . Here is a prediction ,he will be offered another year contract by the manager who knows best. His mobility is not gone in extra time of the European Super Cup and in the Europa League final he was as mobile as anyone in extra time ,he is a fitness freak like Giggs. Forget the age watch the performance v Spurs when he and Rammy bossed them .
Eggman 118
Last year he had a smaller role than now, and when people said a contract extension was wise, it was primarily about his leadership abilities and his professional attitude that could rub off on the younger players. Gamewise it was expected that his role would diminish further. No way could it have been expected that he'd suddenly once again be a starting XI player. In one of the most crucial positions of the team. If you compare him to the players that other top teams have in that position, it's quite embarrassing, really. Phil Driver 503
Fair play all good soundbites ,lets have some names ,so we can compare - he just owned Paulinho on his home ground for a start . And are we putting Mikel above him?

Phil Driver 503
Giggs is 5 years older can you remember back 5 years ? I think Utd have done pretty well since Giggs reached 35 . TorontoChelsea
Phil Driver 503
But you are quite right Giggs is finished ,although Moyes is picking him at 40 as did Fergie .
