I do not think he cares that much about it. Probably has 500 millions in his account already.

Will he still be captain though?

He would have made it at any big club. Look at the videos, where he was 6 years old dribbling past everyone. His HGH therapy could have been paid by any big club, even the smaller clubs.

 

Messi could have went two years ago, but stayed because he believed it might get better. It only got worse.

 

There is that clause in his contract and in an world without Corona, he would have left. There would be no argument.

But the pandemic saved Barcelona and La Liga

We are talking in the context of football. They are all spoil brats who are overpaid by ridiculous amounts. The point made is that he has been loyal to that club after the heights of their dominance. I'm sure he has made them alot of money and we know he has won them many trophies... they should respect his wishes at the end of his career.

Messi had a clause in his contract regarding June 10th.

Are you seriously telling me that he is so daft and his lawyers etc are so ignorant that they had no clue about it? If he had so "desperately" wanted to leave the club, he would have left it then and there or atleast made the barca board extend the clause before the restart in a quid pro quo situation. It's not like holding the club to ransom is something new to messi, he does that every 2nd year to get a raise. 

Barca ain't faultless, but messi is far from the victim that he is being portrayed as by fans. Infact he is as much at fault for the whole charade. 

He is a bloody drama queen and won't be surprised if he made some sort of deal to get even more money to stay and respect his contract.

The board promised him to choose at the end of the season, stop being daft he waited until the season was over as they promised and now they are literal cretins and backing off on what they said and abuse the 10 June as an excuse. Pathetic.

And that's why the board had inserted the clause along with the date. Stop calling someone daft before understanding the situation. "End of season" means nothing, a legal contract does. If we had missed the werner's release clause expiry date, we would not have been able to buy him for 50m€, irrespective of covid or it not being the end of season. Understand that?

Go ask your lawyer if Messi even would have had a case here, you would get your answer. 

While I hate barca with a passion, Messi is no better than that vile club. Don't be daft enough to think he has not used this saga in his favour to get another nice chunk of money plus some extra PR
