James 5,331
A FED-UP commuter has become an internet hit — after throwing a foul-mouthed student off a train for drunkenly rowing with a ticket inspector.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSJBUNOG8kwhttp://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/3995455/Loco-hero.html

Thor 2,717
I don't think throwing a 19 year old around like that because of not paying his ticket is exactly the way to go.

ABK1872 18
If that guy was to be given a fine for assault I would gladly contribute towards it.

ABK1872 18
This is devoloping into quite a story up here. The student in the clip has made a formal complaint to the police and has also released a short video (showing his injuries) describing the situation and stating he did have a ticket, it was just the wrong ticket. He also claimed he had money to buy a ticket and the conductor wouldn't listen to his explanation.

This is in Scotland. To be fair at second viewing it does surpass the necessary force required so is probably a tort in assault. Ironically on the train last week their I saw a similar situation but this lady had no single ticket. Her station was passed long ago. Rather then throwing her off the train he gave her a fine, which she couldn't pay, so she was told too write her address name and number on a paper. She then blatenlty bs'd him saying she was homeless. Unlike this guy the guy stopped at the next station and took her with him. I missed the rest but if you compare the two situations it's quite a different approach. Unless the procedures are different in Scotland I can't really fathom why he didn't give him the generic fine thing. The guy who did throw him off wasn't even under duty to check tickets so he can't even construe a reasonable defense. Ultimately, he's probably screwed. Laylabelle 9,536
The whole story just seems so bizare..why would you think hmmm 'I'll film a random arguement on the train in the first place!?'His Uncle was on some station saying how he realised he had a wrong ticket in the morning...had exams or whatever and was gana explain on the train going wherever after he'd been out that he had been given the wrong ticket...which fair enough but even if true wouldnt exactly seem belieable to a conductor who no doubt had heard endless excusesPretty much all are in the wrong..he shouldnt have started swearing..conductor should've handled it properly and big man should never have gotten invovled.. Tomo 21,751
Im sorry but the lad didn't deserve to get thrown off the train quite like that.He may have been a tit but i can't stand men like that who try and make themself's look hard but picking on people half their size or age, in all probability if it was a bloke closer to his age and especially size that bloke would have not even thought about getting involved. If he gets fined/charged with assault i will have no sympathy what so ever.
ABK1872 18
Originally I was in support of the of guy who threw him off. I wouldn't want to be delayed by some clown who refused to pay for a ticket. That was my initial take on the situation but not anymore. If the guy gets fined I wont care. No sympathy for the student either though, in that clip he was acting like a tool. Reaction from other passengers suggests he was being disruptive and getting on peoples nerves.
