Transition

Transition? No, we are not in transition.

When we have a new players ( or youngsters) on the field, then we will be in transition.

Have to agree with that. In many ways we are experiencing the same problems we did last year and before that. AVB is being let down by the players. We HAVE to start looking towards changing things that are a way of us building for the future. I would also like to see us try a settled side for a run of games, always making changes fine for making sure playing time is fair but it is not helping the continuity of play.

Our most gritty and determined performances have been when we have played in the Carling Cup this season, we need to see players given a chance to impress.

.......................................................Cech.........................................................

Bosingwa...................Ivanovic.........................Luiz............................Bertrand

.................................Meireles.......................Ramires......................................

........................................................Mata........................................................

Sturridge........................................Torres.........................................???????

This is what i would give a try, with any of Anelka, Malouda or Kalou to play the other winger role until we can bring one in January. Mata is clearly better suited to playing in the 10 role to influence the game. Would play Ash in the bigger games but Bertrand needs much more games. Would also even out the games between Meireles and Romeu and also between Ramires and Lamps.

The bottom line is we need to be looking to do something different. Neil Barnett on CTV last night said that CFC want to give Didier a run of games to see if he can play into form. At his age Drogba is not going to improve, who does it make more sense to play into form, your 33 year old striker who is soon off to the ACN or your younger £50m striker who can be one of the best in the world? Lamps also needs to accept a more withdrawn role, we need (and have needed for way too long) a creative player in the most advanced midfield position to influence attacks and playing Lamps there as we do restricts our attacks to very one dimensional plays.

We are struggling at the moment, but if we are to be a team in transition under AVB then lets at least be one and make some real changes for the FUTURE right now.

The Main Problems for AVB is we don't have the players who suit his style of play. He has come in and tried to get players to play in a way they are not used to., this is our issue also most of the players left (the old guard) are not in there primes anymore they sometimes show glimmers of there former selves (Drogba's Goal last night) but in the long run they are a shadow of there former self.

We are now getting payback for fannying around with managers over the past few years if we had stuck to one they would have there own stamp on there team and not just a bunch of players from the Mourniho era.

At the moment we are not a team , AVB has two choices go into the jan market and buy players he needs to play his football , or for this season at least play to our strengths. with a couple of months till Jan option 2 seems the most viable now.

Nail on head there.

As I see it the strategy of Chesea FC is to have a hierarchy from Abramovich down of yes men, who agree on which player is the new Pele -regardless of what the professionals think.

It was clear from JTs statements regarding the stadium that every employee of the club is paid on the understanding they must agree with what they are being told to agree with. We might have financial stability unlike Utd but at least the Glazer parasites leave rednose and footballing experts to indulge themselves in what they know.

At SW6 we lurch from one knee jerk reaction to another whether it be youth strategy, managers, coaches, team policy, targets etc. Under this regime we will never be stable and able to continually build and evolve like Yernited or Arsenal. Criticising AVB, Torres, Lampard etc or arguing about whether Ancelloti should have been fired is re-arranging deckchairs on the Titanic. Until we have proper governance, real accountability from senior managers selected on ability and knowledge - ie not servile yes men such as Buck and Gourlay and a defined strategy to take the club forward we will always lurch around the way we have been recently.

The playing staff need culling, there are some that are the new Kensington royalty, and as such seeing managers coming and going have no respect for them. Its like children constantly having step parents , of which they have less and less respect for....

Exactly

I really agree with the parts about untied , the Glazers leave the football to the people who know what to do. So do City the owner just gives the manager the money and the choices on the football pitch. With Roman he needs to medal in team business he is no football expert and should leave it to the people who are.

Roman has to also realize that because of the new rules he can't throw his toys out of the pram and sack the manager anymore when it is not going well. He used to be able to pay them off out of his own pocket and just appoint the next one. Now all that dough will go towards FFP.

We only have 2 realistic options, either stick with AVB or out him and give his role to Roberto Di Matteo.
