Igi26 346
I'm so happy for Essien, I love him as player and as a person. What a legend he is.
Kieran. 6,317
A little nervous about this. Last thing we want is to rush a man with three serious knee injuries back on the pitch.
termninja 5,290
Really sad...if anyone didn't deserve these serious injuries then it's Essien...he was one of the best midfielders in the world and injuries broke him. He'll hardly be the bison we knew when he's back. Oh well, at least he'll be back. I'm glad he's doing well.
BLionheart 516
Won't make a big difference for us , he will be with Ghana for the African cup of nations till February. We should be happy for him but i can't see this as a boost for us as we will still have him back by End of February. BlueLion. 21,491
A world-class midfielder on his day. I actually think he is now well past his best and injury prone, I actually remember making a case for him to be sold off over the summer before he was injured. But presently our midfield lacks gusto and he could at least add a little more dynamism to proceedings. coolhead23 1,147
I hope Essien gets back soon we so need him, tired to seeing Mikel backing him up but at the same time i hope we dont rush him into the game before he recovering fully. I agree he is being injury prone in the last few season but in his position there arent any one better. Utility and excellent team player, hope he returns fully fit in the blue jersey on the field kicking a**es.
LDN Blue 7,903
Please be better on the ball when you return. We need a rock in midfield.
ack17 205
He became average in last season after recovery. I don't expect too much from him.
Peace. 4,352
For the club sake, I think I would have prefered if he was to come back around March. Because since he is expected to come back in January, that will be the same ol' same ol' "we don't have to look for a player since Essien's return is like a signing". Igi26 346
He became average in last season after recovery. I don't expect too much from him.I hope he becomes even better because of that. People are thinking that he is average but he will try to prove them different.
Waterfall 893
Maybe it's just me being very selfish, but I don't think he should play in the ACoN. He should really prove himself again before he gets the call anyway.
nadavTKL 1,787
Its obvious he wont go to the ACoN. We wont take this risk, Essien wont take this risk, and Ghana wont call him just a few days aftercoming back. And they have other good midfielders. didierforever 7,349
the bison's gonna be back soon.
francozola 2,040
He was very displeased with Ghana after the injury he suffered two years ago, so I highly doubt he'll go for the ACN
LDN Blue 7,903
^ Speaking of Ghana, Kevin Prince-Boateng announced his retirement from Intl. Football today. He's only 24. Ess should consider it, again.
dave30 728
He needs to aloud to go forward and make steam train runs like he used to instead of being forced to sit in midfield or hold .
