Randall 315
Christianity was founded back in 30 AD if i'm not wrong. Emperor Constantine was born sometime in early 300 AD...Here's a challenge. If you or anyone else think the Bible is wrong, take one chapter, just one, and prove it wrong. It still hasn't been proven wrong in 2000 or so years. It's the most perfect book ever written. If you do manage it, you'll disprove God and become a billionaire at the same time.In fact many pieces have been disproven/challenged only for Christians to come back and say "oh well that part's not meant to be taken literally" (re: Genesis) and "oh but that word has such a different meaning in hebrew( /greek whatever langauge they argue is translated wrong)." (re: "Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all things take place"). The problem is people who believe in God are like "WELL YOU MUST PROVE HE DOESN'T EXIST!", no you the burden of proof should be on you, that's how science works; when something is hypothesised it has to be proven to be taken as knowledge. It's a bit like me saying, "there is this thing that shares all of the properties of a Christian God but it's made entirely of boobs and mars bars" and you should all worship it, you would say that is ridiculous and if I wanted you to worship it then I should prove to you that such a thing exists. Or if I said I am the richest person on earth, you'd expect me to prove that and if I said well no I am the richest person until you prove otherwise, that would seem ridiculous. Beast 85
I just can't see how male and female were made so perfect for each other without someone creating them, how the Earth has a magnetic shield to protect us without someone creating it, how gravity is there to keep us from floating without someone creating it and this one is a bit hard to explain but i'll do my best.Everything on Earth needs water, right? Animals, Humans, plants, etc..God knows we need these things so he created rain, so it provides water for us. I just don't see how the condensation of rain would create itself, because it was made perfect for things on Earth.
warnie_666 1,081
What fascinates me is that Christianity and Islam originated from the same religion which is Judaism. And they both hate Jews which can be comprehended as they both hate their religion of origin.Come to think of it Hitler triggered it all.1. He started world war 2. US and Russia along with other nations defeated him and took over Germany thereby dividing it into East and West.3. They freed Jews and The world decided the Jews need a place to live. And Israel was born at the expense of the Palestinian Muslims.4. US and Russia confiscated the German advanced technology on Ballistic missiles among other things.5. Both started becoming vary of each other and there was a sense of paranoia all around.6 Russia set up it's base in Cuba while US set up it's base outside Russia which included parts of Asia.7 This started pissing off the Arabs as they cannot tolerate "Infidels" setting foot in their country.8. At the same time Birth of Israel thanks to US and NATO pissed off Muslims9. Muslims decided to take matters into their own hands as US has beenA) building bases in their countries to counter Soviet threat.B.) supporting Israel 10. They decide to bomb embassy in Kenya and also a ship called USS Cole.11. US continue to support Israel and continues to setup bases in Arab world 12. Osama thinks enough is enough and does the 9/1113. US attacks Afghanistan and Iraq. And thus the world is now an unsafe place to live in.If only Hitler wasn't such a cunt. BlueLion. 21,491
I'm actually keen to keep this discussion open since it isn't exactly a flame war yet. When I was younger I used to think that the world was too perfect to be made by chance, and that there must have been an Almighty Creator. Then I learnt about death, destruction, corruption, murder, hatred and war and realised that this imperfect race of ours is the product of an imperfect equation.Science and religion are two sides of the same coin, but where religion relies on belief and faith, scientific evidence takes the form of actual matter. The ironic thing is early Christianity was actually preached by a load of Jews, and it was not until the time of Constantine where it became a widely-practised religion. It was an effective tool to control the masses - convert and conform or live in fear. The Bible was a perfect set of rules which turned bishops into Gods and kings into servants as His word became law. Then science came along and suddenly rationalism has taken precedence in this liberal society we live in.Jesus walked on water, then turned water into wine. He fed thousands with a load of bread. So why doesn't he feed the thousands of starving orphans in Africa?I thought there was a God and then I left naivety behind.I commend you for your faith although your apparent lack of acceptance of science makes for a sheltered perspective.
