It was. After August 1st however, the release clause in his contract went up to around ~€50M, but because of Valencia's debt, they are likely to accept a bid of €30M (reportedly).

Edit: €30M is roughly £26.25M

I was thinking about a player deal, but the thing is they need the money.

I remember the same situation was with Silva. He wanted to come to Chelsea, but his club wanted the most money.

And Silva did what was best for his club.

So far Arsenal have pulled out. CFC is the only interested club. Even though the club convinced him to stay until nxt year, I also believe Roman can push something to happen. Does he play on the left or right? or in the hole like Silva?

What I really like about him is how complete he is. Great tehnique, very fast, knows how to pick a pass and cross and most importantly to score. I'd be really happy if we managed to sign him.
