If we've sold Zhirkov to Anji and Malouda is our only recognised left-sided winger, then it does make sense.Can we afford both Modric and Mata though?? I don't think Arsenal will sign him, even though they've sold Fabregas to Barcelona because they've been able to negotiate a buy back clause in his contract, which I think is stupid, while Man City have absolutely NO room for another winger. I would be VERY suprised if they moved for him.So that leaves us! I reckon that if this £35m + Kalou + Malouda deal for Modric is true, then Juan Mata is the player we desperately need to replace them both.
