I don't remember at the time being against getting Eto for the short term and letting Lukaku develop on loan but maybe that was just me and not the majority.

Agreed but the gamble the club took with Lukaku just because he was an established striker and the money involved doesn't seem worth the risk of Borja failing to do anything here had he stayed, it also doesn't bod well for Broja to make it here unless he becomes insanely consistent.

Many here were, some even thought Torres was better.......

Regarding Lukaku, I'm hoping that regardless of what Tuchel says in public he see's how much better we are without him, and given Rom's history we know what that should mean.

Again, not the point, not even close.

Eto’o was experienced, played for big clubs, worked with top managers and had led the line where as Lukaku wasn’t ready back then to do that for us.

Same with Broja not being ready as of yet. He might not even be ready next year either for all we know.

Well the Eto'o over Lukaku one made sense as Eto'o was formerly an elite player who was still performing at a decent level and was available on a reasonable/short term contract.

Lukaku on the other hand was known as a flat track bully who is hopeless at dealing with low block defenses and is very technically limited. Add to that he required a £97m fee and £91m+ contract.

Broja may have been a bit of a push, but Tammy and Giroud wouldn't have given us anything less than we're getting out of Lukaku.

Goals this season:

Abraham 10

Broja 6

Lukaku 5

Werner 5

First 2 from the academy, other two cost us 170m euros plus hefty pay check.

It's not just goals either. Abraham is actually playing better than Lukaku.
Don't get me wrong, I still think Abraham isn't good enough to lead the line for us, but I'd rather have Tammy here than Lukaku. Tammy would be a good, and more importantly, happy rotation player for us. He can press and track back, something Lukaku does not do enough of.

Abraham had a very good game against Atalanta, combining well with Zaniolo who finally looks fitter coming back from his bad injury/injuries--he can make Italy a lot better. Tammy still makes a lot of mistakes in the build up, like an overcooked pass in a counter.

You can't really please Chelsea fans. Quite ironic that now we complain that no one can finish chances while Tammy was never rated here and often abused but in minutes equal to 36 PL games he scored 21 goals for Chelsea. Back then people were not happy with other stuff. Now Havertz offers something else but not really goals and complaining continues again...

Lukaku at the moment offers absolutely nothing.

Are you ruling out the possibility that all complaints are valid, i.e. none of our strikers quite fits the bill?

I think only strikers who fit the bill not just for us but in general in football these days are Benzema and Lewandowski. With Haaland and Vlahovic having potential to get there.

Well personally, I am on record saying that I'd rather either Giroud or Tammy over Lukaku. Neither were perfect but they were better fits that Lukaku.

What the fuck is wrong with this guy? Stop social media nonsens, stop talking about politics and racism. Focus on sport dude, cos you playing a horrible season.

Players like Haaland, Lewandowski, Ronaldo never talking about this stuff. Only focus on football. That's why they are so good

Rom is right to have said what he said and to have worded it strongly. I only wish he had worded it more strongly.

Racists won't be cured by hastags or social media commentary. They think what they think but society needs to impose penalties when they air those views in situations where they shouldn't. It's just a personal opinion but, in an academic, or debate, situation people should be allowed to spew their vile opinions if they wish but a football ground is private property. There are terms and conditions which must be adhered to if we want to gain entry. Serious consequences should always follow for anyone who who breaches those Ts&Cs..

We need a real striker, not a human rights activist. He talks about this stuff more than scores for Chelsea. That's bizarre and a bad sporty attitude. That's why his fitness is so bad

115 milions, ladies and gentleman 🤡

You and ppl need to give him time as a player, it might be a long time before he fits in, me i'm prepared to wait til that time, he has my support

And he needs to play regularly he aint get get any better sitting on the bench.

This is nonsense. I think we can take it for granted that he isn't updating his social media during training sessions so what the heck does it have to do with his fitness?

Why should we wait exactly? It isn’t as if he hasn’t played in the Prem before, and we spent 100 million on him for an immediate  impact. If not then what was the point in buying him when we could give Havertz and Broja time to “fit in”.

 He’s 29 next year. Not 21.
