Yes, HG is important, but we don't need HG player in every position. Costa is leaving, the next striker we are going to sign will fill his place. So, no big problem I think.

About Lukaku, yes he score 20+ goals last season, but I have read it before that if you take all his goals, Everton will still stay at 7th position. Almost all of his goals are not giving significant points for the team. So, if we sign Lukaku, you are saying that you will be satisfied if we win every game 1-0 with him scoring, kinda contradicting it.

we lost 3 HG players already Terry Ake Begovic with only one replacement in Christensen . If we could secure a HG player that scores 20+ goals a season in all competitions that's worth it to me.

 

His goals carrying him to only 7th in order for Lukaku thats a poor way of looking at it. Look at Diego for example he scored 20 goals but because he had Hazard Pedro Willian Alonso all chipping in we won the title. If you look at the stats of Everton's goal scorers after him you will see the gulf in class - coupled with how poor their defence was he would have had to score 20 more goals for them to finish in Top 4 .. thats crazy to put on one player alone

Think we are not in HG crisis at the moment, even after we had lost 2 players now. U21 players has filled in the quota needed last season, so does this season. We don't have squad that deep last season. Adding 2-3 more non HG players are still possible, I think, especially if player like Costa, Matic also leaving. No problem.

We are replacing those players we three non HG players at least if reports are to believed thats 2 out 3 in thats a negative ratio if my math is correct .. anyway at the end of the day I am definitely of the club that rates Lukaku and feel that if we can sell a bench player for 60m in Oscar then someone who produces at a much higher level who is homegrown for 75m is worth it.. so agree to disagree at this point because you won't convince me otherwise and I have the feeling that it's the same for you

The sale of Ake was shocking, and bringing in Rudiger for 10+mill more wtf , talk of NC and Ruben,Ania going ?  we were quite lucky with our squad last year in regards to injuries/suspensions and to go into this season with champions league footie extra we would have needed extra upgrades before Costa* Matic* sales , gonna be a right mash up in the next weeks!

Think you misunderstood the point? If you don't count all Lukaku goals, Everton will still finish 7th. His goals contribute only 9 points for the team and hardly any winning or equalizer goals coming from him. Surely, that means something.

and you also misunderstand the importance a goal has to a team. Whether its a winner or the second goal of a 3-0 beating - simply put a goal boosts your team. Could his goals be more decisive sure but as long as he is scoring at a good rate that won't matter as we have other players to help carry the load
