TheOneChan95 225
I'm glad I'm not online while I watch the match yesterday. If not, maybe I will say something 'ugly' for that incident.Since Fulham away day last season, I've learned not to judge player performance before the final whistle blowing. Schurrle taught me that.I could still say something, if we draw or lose, but we have won, so I don't mind it too much.Damn he was truly atrocious in the first half. I remember he blasted an indirect free kick and it probably hit a low flying aircraft, he definitely redeemed himself though.Anyways all keepers will make mistakes at some point in the season. I only hope he doesn't try something like that again if his hunters are that close to him. Great mental toughness from him to pick himself up and shrug that mistake off RoyalBlues

Great mental toughness from him to pick himself up and shrug that mistake off I watch that match since the first minute, and that is the first time I am completely angry with specific Chelsea player, because everything he do is just wrong for entire half. But in the end I laugh a lot.
BlueLion. 21,491
He made a howler. Every goalkeeper does it. But to show the character to bounce back and make that very good triple save and command his box in the way that he did, rather than retreat into his shell - that speaks volumes about his personality. Good man.For me, yesterday's game sums up the difference between Chelsea in 2014/15 and the Chelsea of last season. Remember the 2-2 at home against the Baggies last year, when Cech let in that absolute bobbler of a shot from Sessegnon and we only got a draw through Hazard's penalty? A similar story yesterday - you can't legislate for individual errors like Thibaut's, so for the team to bounce back and get the win was impressive. Yesterday was a big, big win. Eggman 118
Great potential, lots of experience, but still young, our Thibault. You can only learn by making mistakes. Luckily for him and us, we got the win in the end, so it didn't cost us. I'm sure he will think twice about dribbling like Hazard in his own box now

CHOULO19 24,332
I'm actually happy (now that we won) in sense about that mistake because it showed us all how confident he is to not let that affect him.
MCM4PR3Z 411
A good point, would people be so forgiving if the mistake had cost us the two points? They should, because he played a very good game. Every player makes mistakes during the season, even the very best. And while I think it was certainly a mistake of Thibaut, I blame Iva more for that goal. Passing back at the goalkeeper in that situation is asking for a lot of trouble and a potential goal, and certainly when the pas is rubbish also. Thibaut should have gave away a corner, because the hunting players were too close to him to do anything else. I'm sure he will learn from it and that he will do that next time when Iva screws up again. bluesman2610
Jase 43,479
In all honestly I don't think the defence is that bad but the protection isn't the best currently, something im sure Mou will fix in the summer, Matic is off form and as much of a revelation as Cesc has been, to say he isn't the best defensive pivot player is putting it mildly. Can sort of agree with that. The one major issue about the team this season is the defensive organization. There have been a number of matches where we looked ridiculously open and got picked off a little too easily, which is very unusual for a side managed by Mourinho. Maybe not considering we are approaching the end of the season and the stakes are getting higher BUT we should never have gotten into that position in the first place. There have been a number of matches where we looked ridiculously open and got picked off a little too easily, which is very unusual for a side managed by Mourinho.Against both Southampton and Hull we were continuously caught out by simple balls over the the top. Or a ball would get played through the middle of the park and Matić and Cesc were nowhere to be seen. We've been making some really uncharacteristic and basic mistakes. Almost Arsenal like.Doesn't help of course that 3/4ths of our back four struggle mightly against pace. Ivanovic gets blown by constantly both because of his lack of recovery pace and terrible, schoolboy positional discipline. Cahill has to be one of the clumsiest 1-on-1 defenders in the league. He can't deal with them at all and just gets booked. JT has even been forced into errors due to poor positioning because our midfield has been struggling so much lately. Like against Hull for instance, every time they got the ball back in the first half, they immediately attacked Ivanovic at right back, knowing full well that he and Cahill are liabilities in our defence. Can't really afford to have one defender who isn't quick and comfortable in playing a higher line.
