🇧🇪 Thibaut Courtois

Sky Sports Scout is our exciting feature where we scour the globe looking out for the best talent and bring you a report on what we find.

The scout reports...

On the brink of joining Chelsea, Thibaut Courtois is already being described as one of the best young keepers in the world - but is he?

Courtois, despite only being 19, has just helped Genk to the Belgian championship and has already been called into the full squad.

The teeanger began life as a left-back but having joined Genk at the age of 7, he was converted into a goalkeeper and, well, the rest is history.

Already standing at some 6ft 6in, Courtois is a big target - but he is agile with it. He loves to come off his line when required and is brilliantly brace, a feature some modern day keepers often lack.

Courtois does love to punch and parry the ball, in often spectacular fashion - something which he may need to iron out in the future but it has stood him in good stead thus far.

His form for Genk this season has seen a huge number of clubs tracking him but it is Chelsea who are set to complete his signing. Despite already having Petr Cech, one of the world's great goalkeepers, they are already looking to the future and they have picked out Courtois as the man to replace him.

The scout says...

On his way to Chelsea in a €5million deal, but very sensibly he will be loaned back to Genk for at least one season.

Looks a brilliant prospect and will be interesting to see how Chelsea handle his progression.

should be one of the last transfer this summer! We have the best goalkeeper!<_<

AVB is starting to annoy me!

Please. Please, don't tell me you actually think we would sign a keeper to REPLACE Cech?

He is what, 18 years old, and we jave a 35 year old and a useless keeper as back-up. Surely if he would replace anyone it would be one of them, and then MAYBE in the future he could become number one keeper. AVB is annoying just for looking for the future?

God forbid what would happen if he actually decided to sell someone like Drogba or Malouda

Dont think he will be happy to only beeing a backup for cech!

Still dont see him as a top priority thats what i am saying!

He is 19, of course he will be happy to back up the best goalie in the world

And he himself said, Chelsea have laid down a plan over the next 5-7 years for him, which would result in him becoming our future No 1.

Oh you traiter, Fifa manager is so underrated.

Absolute lol. Football manager is so much better! Give it a proper go.

So how far along is this signing then? And is this going to be like a double deal with De Bruyne as well?
