ZanSnake 1,211
Let's hope both Josh and Ryan will be sticking around for the up-coming season, instead of being loaned out. I really think Bertrand has come to the point where he needs to be getting his chances here rather then somewhere else. Ashley will no doubt be rested more this season i believe, especially after playing EVERY game last season - and the fact that he is back with Cheryl
ruggedknot 105
Now let's just hope the board and coaching staff t have a plan in mind when it comes to the development of the two . Bertrand is a potential left-back in the future for club and country while Josh is already being groomed carefully by the club as the next poster boy for the club , besides his brilliant technical abilities . Wouldn't be a surprise if he ends on a loan at Bolton , if we shore up on the midfield conveniently . Helps that Owen Coyle knows AVB rather well and Bolton need an advanced playmaker in their team if Stuart Holden gets crocked again . They play good football , strong mettle while they're at it and Coyles' a really good man manager as well - worked wonders with Strurridge and Wilshere . Remember Josh saying at the end of the previous season that if he isn't getting enough game-time , might decide upon leaving on loan in Jan , although I can see him being very useful in different parts of midfield when needed much like Ramires , both really good at having the ball at their feet . Helps that AVB is likely to have given his stamp of approval on the deals as well ,
Guest Homer2Chelsea
Interesting that both are left footers but write with their right hand. Good news, nevertheless.
chrismada9 1,948
This piece of news has to be the best thing since sliced bread! Hopefully both players will be under Boas' plans for the new season, and they will both get plenty of games!
termninja 5,290
Great thing to hear! They deserve it Does anyone know how big their new wages are?
Guest justin_3d
Not surprise by Josh. That is a no brainier. However I am very happy with Bertrand deal. He has been doing since last season, and hopefully this new season he either gets a loan to a team in the PL or AVB will use him on the team to rotate with A. Cole. Cause at 22 he should be getting more time in the team like Sturridge.

Espcially if Zhikov stays at the club..
Madmax 9,219
Contract extensions for young players generally are a prelude to them leaving on loan.

Espcially if Zhikov stays at the club..Well if PVA and Ryan get loan, then it should be in the second part of the season.Cause the first half it's easy, the team scored for fun, and not many teams are at their peak. So this gives time for our younger guys to get some game time.Second half of the season is when things get hard, and it would be wise for the club to do the same like last season. Loan them out second part. That way they gave them a try in the first part of the season, while at the same time you get other clubs who see them, and get interested. Like Bolton did with Sturridge. Guest justin_3d
And Bruma.....Bruma will have to wait to see how he does in his season loan.2 years should be good enough for him to get some good experience. But right now I see Bertrand and Josh ahead of him.
