Tiago would almost certainly be a squad player right? So he will be blocking the path of the younger guys. TOPTB - i have talked about a world class partner for Matic. Not a squad player who wil block the path of the younger players. You talk of a ' safety net' if they struggle, Rami, Lamps and Matic... there is a safety net. We don't need another surely? There has to be a time when the younger players actually get their chance. We put it off every year and it never happens. Tiago would be a step backwards in their developmennt imo.

I agree with you, that may well be the case, but in my opinion i think it would be a silly move. We could get so much more with this money. I would rather not see us blow more than half of it on a novice. Just my opinion.

30 mill for an 18yo with little experience is ridiculous. Just because we have money from the Luiz deal doesn't mean we should be splashing cash about like it's going out of fashion. The Luiz transfer will only go down as a good deal if we spend that money wisely. 30 mill for Shaw is not wise.

I think all clubs have to produce a list of players who are still under contract with the club on a certain date (today obviously) remembee hilario was on the list last year but signed a new contract. Just because his name is on the list doesn't mean he is certain to leave i don't think.
