as a feeble attempt to make me any less pathetic than my avatar may show now, this is a dare in the Pub thread., and as a good sport I'm honoring my part. I'm embarrassed beyond words by it, but please guys, try to overlook the impossible to be overlooked

Again, adapting from France to England isn't the same as adapting from Brazil to England. It passes through everything: football style, level of team mates, weather, responsibility and role in the team, etc... We can't compare Eden's adaptation to Oscar's. We can compare Oscar's to another Brazilian going to Europe in a competitive league like EPL, for example Ramires'. So I think we could compare him to Lucas Leiva for example. I don't remember Lucas' first season on Liverpool - and I'm not even sure LFC was his first club in Europe. We can compare it to Lucas' in PSG last season. That's the situation you can compare. It wouldn't be a stretch to compare other South Americans, as the football culture isn't much different from country to country here. But comparing an European change with an intercontinental change doesn't seem reasonable or fair. I'm quite happy with Oscar's first season. It was better than I expected and he showed a lot of personality and strength as mentioned above, by taking the challenge, the ups and downs all with the same attitude. There's only one player in our current squad that has potential to be more than Oscar (when he also reaches his potential) and that's exactly Eden. I think in a couple of years they will be the best players in our team and Eden will certainly be one of the top three best players in the world.

I disagree. Being a great passer doesn't mean you don't make mistakes. It's about the rate of accurate passes and I think his is good.

no, love, I'm saying the manly thing might sound wrong, be wrong and lead to a discussion that won't end well. The cheating part is a different subject... and on that I agree SA would do it more often, though I can't be sure as I may not watch enough European football. The naked example is so funny!
-
THIS. I do agree south american cheat more than Europeans - or so it seems because again it's cultural, but at the end of the day each individual should be held accountable for their own actions, labeling everyone or generalizing may be dangerous, although we do see much more cheating like that around here... but maybe it's because I don't watch enough European football (which is improbable as I watch more European than Brazilian footie these days)

thank you

woah I think it's all the same, guys. I just mentioned Busquets, Pedro and others in Barça team - who are Spaniards - who also dive and act the heck out of their arses... it's not exclusive from South America, nor do I think men here are manly... Let's not delve into that discussion though? It smells like things getting personal, out of hand and misunderstandings seem to be likely.

not surprising about Messi, but they do sell the perfect angelic saint image of him against Cris' devilish one. I take Cris any other day
-
I can't read that, love what is it about?

best post ever!!!! When Barça team sees this, they'll smile to each other happy with themselves. Neymar is showing he already has the same skills as Busquets, Dani Alves, Pedro, Messi (oh yea, the holy saint also acts) and company in Barcelona. Success guaranteed.

Welcome Hope you can have a good time here on the forums. It's great actually -
I'll try to find some stats, but Cavani proved his value to a manager like Mourinho - if he hadn't already. Tactically and technically he was nearly perfect. Committed with the team, he ran and worked really hard (as work rate seems to be the trend in the thread lately). He put a lot of pressure in Brazilian midfield and even attack, and he intercepted some balls. It's not even about the goal and a few other chances alone. That's the kind of player Mourinho loves, the kind he prefers to work with and our manager can be quite obstinate, so if he convinces himself we need him and no one else, he'll be ours and I don't see how Mourinho wouldn't want him. This is the clutch, the determination, the commitment that José values the most in a player. Of course, it was one of the most important matches of the year to Uruguay and consequently to Cavani, but I think he showed to everyone that still questioned than when things get tough (like in the match against Venezuela - in the qualifying, not only the circumstances of the match, but also the qualifying itself) he gives more. And that's something I miss from having Drogba - but I'm not revisiting that conversation. It was one of the best matches I watched from him and I've watched quite a lot of Napoli matches last season. I was once again positively impressed and even more convinced we need someone like him. Ba moves some - but not enough - Torres is lazy and bitchy and moody, so we never which Fernando will play. I'm sure Mourinho will look more affectionately after this match, he was a warrior I still think 53, 60, 70 or whatever it is, is an outrageous amount of money, but I want him badly.

(don't jinx it) let's play the underdog card - cause we are.

If Brazil plays like this against Spain on Sunday we don't stand a chance. 3-0 minimum
-
Júlio César
-
I wasn't even supporting Brazil before this match, but I like Felipao so much - as a guy, not as a manager anymore - that his interview yesterday won me over! I was supporting Uruguay in this competition! But I'm happy
-
Brazil motherfuckers
-
FRED!!!!
-
I love Julio's red kit! But I love him much more than the kit. He's like my fave goalie ever, so yeah, Julio Cesar fangirl right here
-
THAT'S MY FUCKING GOALIE!!!!!

I meant it in a sports crush way (Shirley is totally NOT my type). Show me your talents and you might
-
I'm feeling very positive about Shirley He seems to have approached the club with the right attitude. Some people didn't buy it and thought he was just pretending, but he looked quite happy if you ask me. Anyway, there's potential, I'm sure José has something in mind, and Chelsea isn't the fuckery known as RM (I do hope gets better with Carlo there because I really lost a lot of my passion for the team seeing how fucked up RM became. I don't care about how important some players there are, there's nothing bigger than the club itself and the directors and players keep making a great embarrassment of themselves as a club with such investment should have much better results, but that's fucked up and I really wish José had left much earlier. I also really wish RM to be better managed, but there are too many huge egos to stroke, so I can't see it really improving in the near future). Back to Chelsea though, José will have a nice workplace and I trust his assessment of this guy. He kid is 22, he has tons to develop and he's going to have a great manager to help him doing that. Let's just hope he won't become the next Ozil that tried really hard to look any less scary (not in the @ way) and party hard and forgot how to play football. Germany is the next big deal in international football imo and I really like them now (still hate Bundesliga though). The right move at the moment is to start bringing young German players because they're going to become big shots in a few years. I'm not saying Spain is approaching its decline (it's not), but Germany is just the next generation of talented players imo, Spain a close second. So bringing Germans now it's a great move imo. Also, about Andy, I like him, his attitude, how he approached the club and now I'll get to know him as a player as I don't remember him from the very few Bundesliga matches I've watched last season.

sure because the Adidas logo, the different collar, different sleeves design, different patterns in the chest, in the sides are just some lines here and there. Sorry, lov, forgot you're a man talking about clothes
