  1. I edited my post with what I checked now. I'm not talking about media, I'm talking about what the player's staff said to their PR team - which is in Brazil. Juve is holding back. That's their right, they have him under contract. Things such as this happen. I still stand by what I said, which club in the world would release a date to say when they will announce their signings? It doesn't make sense. As for the couple of minutes comment, I thought the three monkey emojis I added were enough to mean I was kidding on that regard. I still believe it's a ridiculous idea to have a club say they will announce signings on a certain day. Nobody does that.
  2. inside info (now edited and properly checked): the player and his agent agreed and it looks like Juve doesn't want to sell him at all and that's why things cooled down. Now it's down to Juve actually holding their ground and holding a player that already told them he doesn't want to stay or if they will agree to sell him off. Got this straight from the the player's staff (not me, but my peer). He wants to play for Chelsea and the club and the player already agreed on everything. The press release has been written for a week now.
  3. Idiotic Gorillaz video to release the kit? Already missing Adidas and their epic releases. Kits are ok
  4. Why would the club make a statement to set day and date for signings announcements? That makes no sense. Just wait a couple of minutes hahahahaha. Next is Baka [emoji85] [emoji87] [emoji86]
  5. There you go, crybabies, the first signing of the season. Others will follow in time. Don't get people freaking out in June or July first about lack of deals.
  6. I know this is probably the worst kind of BS ever because the worst kept secret in the world of football is that we are waiting for the Nike contract to kick in before we announce anyone. But the giddy, immature part of me would love to have the fireworks effect the guy mentioned and the video because how many levels of wonderful would be that we set a new trend? Can you imagine on the 1st or 3rd we come to see a video promoting our new signings or the announcing every hour a new signing? Even if it isn't more than 2-3 players, it would be so epic because as far as I can say nobody ever did it. It's like a godfather way of dealing with things. We came, conquered, showed everything in one single day and now wait for us in August when our newest squad will eat you all alive. (of course it doesn't mean we wouldn't sign more players in the two remaining months of the window, but I loved the feeling three seasons ago when we did our business early announcing Diego and Cesc soon and just chilling while the other teams were bidding, speculating, and knocking on doors all around while we just watched having done our most important business quickly and smoothly. What message wouldn't it send to our rivals and to the world of football? I'm that shallow, lol
  7. train with the under 21. More suitable to the mental age he's showing through all of this. Although U-7 would be more appropriate if we are being specific.
  8. Like we did with Mata... I still can't get over how much silverware he's led United to collect... Seriously now, we shipped players that were either declining (Cech), or limited (too many to name, don't want to upset the widows either) to rivals. More often than not with a fat tag price. The board can carry on for all I care if next is Matic for 40m
  9. In theory, any average player could improve their ridiculous midfield. The fact they are getting Matic instead of an engine or a quality player actually works in our favor. José won't take too many risks with certain players. I'd rather United have Matic than much more competent midfielders that I have no doubt United could lure and sign. While I'm not convinced about Bakayoko yet, I've cursed Matic too many times to really believe he will improve united a lot. United could (and should) do much better than Matic, but of course Matic and other average players would improve their midfield, because it is this bad, it's just that it doesn't improve dangerously imo.
  10. I can't for the life of me believe Matic makes United stronger. He's slow, doesn't move that well, his defending got worse with the years and his attack contributions aren't that expressive. Let them get an average player, that has no stamina and struggles in the second half of the season instead of a little engine they could find in many other players. They are united, let's not fool ourselves and doubt their appeal. They could have players much better or useful than Matic. They're settling because Mourinho rathers have players he knows will not cause him trouble. There are less and less players willing to die for him as ibrahimovic once said... And the old fox knows it, that's why he's trying to add players he can trust to his squad. He's burned way too many bridges and he's deadly afraid of having another Madrid situation in his hands, which is always more likely in a club like United. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  11. Lukaku could be useful as a second striker in a 3-5-2. We all know Conte loves this system and just didn't use it because according to him we didn't have the personnel for that. If that's the plan, to bring him as a second striker, I think he fits the role down to a T. Now we all know he has no quality to be the front-man in a big team, where he will face many defensive teams, parking the bus. He's useless in this kind of situation, how can people not admit that? Even at Everton he struggled to score under these circumstances - and few teams played with 9 men behind the ball against Everton. Not to mention the price tag... He did what was best for him when he left, as well as we. Let's leave things like this and continue to benefit everybody.
  12. Let's prepare ourselves for Torres, the second coming for twice the price We like to break this kind of fluke records
  13. Meant banned from posting on this thread, which obviously was a figure of speech, not literally, as people can't even be banned from one thread. I couldn't keep reading through the many pages I was behind and when I skipped to the last page there were people nitpicking again. I just find it to be extremely spoiled and spoiling for people to put everything under the microscope. I came to post about the important win today, about finally giving Cesc a start in a match Matic had no point starting, to say I'm so happy and relieved for having him, a world class manager in every aspect of the job. But I was deflected by a few posts and decided to vent. If people can vent about nonexistent mistakes he made today and in other occasions, I can vent about the nonexistent need of said things, even if this is a forum.
  14. some people should be banned from this thread... honestly. Is the expectation for Conte to be perfect? He's already making something out of the this world with the players we have. Nobody could predict this team could have turned out to be this solid and that's down to Conte and how he works to maximize players' strengths and minimize their weaknesses. That's down to the manager, who has a great environment, deals the disgusting media with grace and class, set the players on fire, found a system that works with players such as Alonso, Matic, Moses, Pedro - that have their positives, but also many limitations. He recovered players such as Hazard - who had the worst season of his life last year, Costa, Cahill, Luiz (even if he was out, he was the same as he was here). Gave solidness to our defense without compromising the attack. He basically made 3-4-3 a thing again, didn't invent it, but refreshed it. Now we must nitpick on his faults. Ok, I don't like his fake hair (although better than bald, he wouldn't make baldness work), he looks really weird in some candid pictures, and worst of all, he doesn't sleep well because of football. I have minor critics to some decisions, I just don't see the point of bringing them up when he's doing much better than expected, none of them compromise and there is no thing such as perfect people, perfect professionals.
  15. no, the 15 goals he's scored the season should give him credit, but plastic fans will always be plastic fans...
  16. oh, so now the referee calls it quit as the timer reaches the added time... it doesn't excuse our terrible defending, but that foul shouldn't be called in the first place
  17. I love when Diego's critics are shut up this way. The few Eden critics too (believe, they exist) hahahahahahahahahahaha embarrassing lot
  18. our defending was juvenile, but the foul - that never happened in the first place - was called after additional time... shouldn't be a foul either for the nature of the touch or the time. Either way, pathetic defending...
  19. mate, don't you know we have tactical geniuses here that know better than Conte? People who has magic ways to prevent any team in the world to have less effective or good matches in 38 rounds throughout a whole season, to extinguish any sort of slump due to the long season - regardless of the lack of 6 extra matches because of UCL groups stage . Such superior coaches have it all figured out in their minds and did Conte listen to them - or even better - were they in charge, we wouldn't be 8 points ahead in the most challenging league in the world. We'd be 16. Conte said months ago, before the 3-4-3 switch that we didn't have the personnel for a 3-5-2, although that was his plan. I don't know why, just a feeling, my sixth sense is somewhat sharp these days, and in this case it's telling me to stick with the manager's words. Just in this case. Spot on in your analysis. We didn't have huge pressure in any of the matches mentioned. The team isn't achieving things as they were some months ago. Nothing new in football. Let's not consider European football a great addition in matches. As I said, it was six matches distributed in four months. It's not like they are the reason a team is tired in February or not...
