That I believe is worrying. Now people wanting us to match Mancs investment is delusional. I'm sure Conte isn't feeling very happy, but I'm sure he doesn't have such expectations either. The board must have told him how things work around here before he signed

So I read in this thread three startling things: A 28yo is considered old nowadays (regardless of how much he relies on hid pace, he's 28,not 32), that a 23yo only had one good season under his belt and a 24yo who only played for real and Juve didn't have a remarkable season yet or established himself in the starting lineup. Kids, real life isn't FIFA... The peak age for most players continues to be 25-26 and their momentum runs for 4-5 years. Just because some very special players peak earlier it doesn't mean the standard has changed.

That's what they said last year and they had to scrap a UCL spot. They sign many players, many times the wrong ones. Also Guardiola was a fiasco, but I fully expect him to do somewhat better this time around. Same thing was said about United and they finished 6th. Thing is city have been doing some of the best deals for many years now and that paid off with one league they won and another United choked. They're the English PSG...
-
Don't make assumptions just because he's Brazilian. He's not a great FB in either phase of the game
-
Such a second level player...

We need backups if Conte decides to play 3-5-2 which is his favorite and he said he didn't play because we didn't have the personnel

He will not bang those many goals... Lukaku has trouble scoring against tight defenses which is the case he'd face the most if he played for us and might be the case in United. Look at his career, not only stats to see that. He struggles unless the other team's defense isn't that good or isn't parking the bus. Will Jose park the bus? I have no idea because I didn't watch United much (couldn't stomach). I remember they were a mess, and then extremely ineffective even during the unbeaten streak. Won many times with lucky or offside goals and had a miryad of draws. If he parks the bus and play counter attack, okay, he's got more room and it suits him better, but will Jose park the bus against teams parking the bus? I'm not attracted to watch this kind of football. Other example, Lukaku has a terrible record in important matches and zero UCL experience (doubt in knockout stage he'll do anything relevant). What I'm saying is he will continue to score goals but not as much as before. He will struggle against better defenses and he will face better playing in a team as United. Also he isn't a big game player, never has been, it doesn't mean he cannot become one, maybe he will, but that's not my bet. Also that's my opinion on Lukaku for years, my posts in this thread are a testament to that. He's yet to prove me wrong. I gave the same assessment prior to the world Cup, the transfer to Everton, the Euros... I'm waiting for the day he proves me wrong, it obviously can happen, it's just in four years it hasn't.

He was 21-22 playing consistently for the first time in his career in a team as huge as Juve. You cannot ignore this. There's a reason Real activated the buy back clause and it wasn't to make money later. Of course he isn't the same kind of striker Diego is. Kun Aguero isn't either and on his prime I prefer him over Diego any day. Now, I'm not comparing Moratita to Kun either, I am just saying a striker doesn't need to be the same to Diego's sort to be deadly. Also I follow (and love) Moratita since his debut. He's very good and would become great anywhere.

No, according to the like he has acid humor and tons of sarcasm. My kind of person

I'm really lost reading this kind of post from you. It's not a race, we have more than 50 days. The first stage of pre season is about fitness and nothing else and I don't think we need reinforcements to beat Burnley a month from now. Are you okay? it's the third/fourth post from you with the same tone related and it's still July 8th... Hun, enjoy your summer, relax, maybe get some rest or find a temporary outlet that isn't Chelsea. Just don't tell me you've got in the kids bandwagon, it doesn't suit you, although ofc you can post and think whatever you want. It's just I can't recognize you writing this kind of post.

He will be announced in the advanced hours of the day, after the advanced medical that followed the advanced talkings. All in the advanced coming hours
-
Prayer Circle everybody, let's go to the streets, cause riot in social media, anything, there must be something
-
Don't need to rate him on goals where he never played, but in the matches he should have made the difference to take Belgium to stages they haven't been. He's been a farse in EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM. Want me to list all world Cup and euros important matches he disappeared or are those matches regretfully and shamefully still alive in your memory. He's one of the the reasons why you didn't go further in such competitions, but the king to score goals against Luxembourg in qualifiers. Also, since when becoming the top scorer for Belgium NT tells anything? It's not like you guys ever produced a van Persie or van Basten. Also you failed to mention that the 10 goals he's missing represents 50% of what he's scored, as the top scorer has 31 (impressive isn't) and Lukaku has 20. WOW, color me impressed
-
I've been saying (and praying) that I don't want him here for months, no butt hurt comments. He does not play well against good defenses. His technique is lacking, he's selfish at times, stupid at others. Is he a poacher? Of course he is. Will he continue to score? Yes, although not as much IMO. He is the kind of striker Conte seems to like, I'll give him that, but we can do better. I said a couple of weeks ago when it looked like he was going to come here that we were going to have Torres 2.0 for double the (unworthy) price tag and become laughing stock, so on this regard I'm happy United will continue to be the laughs, but I'm concerned about where it leaves our relationship with Conte if he really wants him and is pissed we didn't get. I wasn't wrong about Mata, de Bruyne, Cech and others we let go. They had exactly the seasons I predicted them to have in our rivals. I could be wrong about Lukaku, but I am more certain about him than all the others... Blessing in disguise especially because of the ridiculous fee. It doesn't mean I'm not worried about our future with Conte.
-
I really laughed at this
-
No updates. Got the info from PR company (through my peer) and that's two weeks old. His agent requested them to write his departure press release and that was it.
-
And big companies have their executives aligned with their philosophy... So the change from him to her may coincide with the change of philosophy. Saying the problem is who negotiates the deals doesn't make a lot of sense... A club sets a price tag to a player we are interested, it's not entirely up to Marina to reach the value. Only here I ever seen someone criticising who discuss contracts as opposed to who decides the targets and the plans B, C, D...
-
So now they're ready to go steady. Just go for it
-
So uncalled for... The time you've been a fan is as relevant as what you ate yesterday. Why does it matter? Haters and rival fans making this sort of comment is already annoying, but they're here to attack us anyway they can. A fellow fan is completely unneeded. I know idiots over 60 and under 20, some that have been supporting the team for four decades or four weeks. I also don't like most posts during this time of the year, but we can all do without this kind of BS. Btw@Pizy has been in this site for many years... If that information is really important to you.
-
Let him go then. I still don't want him here, especially for that amount of money
-
So Milan can't be in the list either [emoji13] Kidding, of course. They've been terrible for a while, but a team as big as them is always a sleeping giant waiting to be awake again. Still don't think they can compete with Juve, but they are on their way back to glory days.
-
Not at all and this comes from someone who thinks Moses is an incredible limited hardworking player.
-
Just a big coincidence. Although it's bound to happen some time, working with football even in an amateur way. The famous network thing and whatnot. I'm even more positive now that you said Juve don't hold players that want to leave. It looks like he expressed his will to leave (to the point of the manager contacting the PR agency all way in Brazil to prepare his departure press release), but he didn't hand in a request. Maybe they're trying to find a good replacement before agreeing? It's not common for clubs to hold players for this reason so early in the window, but who knows?
-
I'm not even sure I can follow you. I said what my peer got straight from the player's staff, that's it. I got excited because I thought this ship has sailed. You implied we shouldn't expect the club to announce players on July 1st or 3rd because the club never officially said they would announce signings one day or the other. This is the part I'm saying is ridiculous. No club confirms that XXth of whatever month we will announce our new signings. Ofc the club wouldn't release it. Also the only (and obvious) we didn't announce anyone is because we couldn't close the deals. Good for you that you knew it all along...
