  1. For me too. All tweets don't appear in tapatalk, I have to go to web view to see them. A pain in the arse if you ask me
  2. @The Skipper this article is brilliant and the author also qualify Morata as having "huge intelligence"
  3. Totally not my point, I didn't assess him. He's poor in some of the things I listed, decent in others, but his best skills IMO have nothing to do with being a smart player. He knows how to use his body and strength well, his positioning is good, but far from special, but his decision making lacks in certain circumstances, his technique too (and while having this doesn't make any player smart, players using theirs in a special way certainly does). He rarely spots a player, a run, his link up too is okay, nothing smartly special. He does the basics very well, but no, in my concept of smart player, he isn't. He's just okay (not saying he's stupid).
  4. Dude, Morata's words, Conte's decision in 2014, our interest on him last summer, Morata's admission of a personal call from Conte last season, the timing of Conte's new contract and Morata's deal should make it clear to everyone what Conte's first choice was. And Matt Law confirmed it.
  5. Seriously that people can't say when a player is smart? We came down to having to explain what a smart player is? It's the ability to read the game. Whether moving, making decisions, predicting the next moves by his team and opponents, understanding the underlying of tactics and systems, using tools from his repertoire accordingly. Making decisions also include a range of things. There are many different kind of intelligences, endless studies and theories showing that. IQ is a term and concept that most scientists, psychologists, teachers and psychiatrists don't use anymore because it's limited, misleading and nearly useless. We analyse the skills that make them better understand things such as logical thinking (related to math), music, space and directions, languages, science, emotions, interpersonal relationships, sports, etc. To say it in a crude way a person can be dumb to some of those things (I didn't list them all) and a genius in others. Seriously guys, you may disagree with her assessment on Lukaku, but don't twist her words or pretend intelligence applied to football doesn't exist. I understand that maybe many of you didn't know the scientific aspect I explained in the previous paragraph and I'm not saying you should, but of course you have the notion that a player can be smart or not football wise. When did the people in this forum start turning the blind eye? @peace. you have been summoned.
  6. Ofc she was, what else could it be? It's appalling people think commentators are there to comment how smart as a person a player is. Don't how how people interpreted it any other way.
  7. Actually querer in Spanish in this context of wording means love more than want, but wouldn't make any sense, so he probably meant want
  8. I'd have Llorente or Benteke over Remy any day.
  9. And people fucking complain about the board. I rest my case
  10. Looooooool United didn't sign Morata because they refused to pay the money and we missed out Lukaku. I have so much fun reading English media
  11. Haven't thought about that. Yeah, you're right. As long as we have Eden we will not play 352
  12. It's unavoidable these days, I'm just so bloody happy we don't do a few of those a season and find so effective solutions with half the price tag. We spend when it's really needed, we don't splash money to make it look like we've got the money (and become laughing stock). We've learned from Torres after all...
  13. Amazing post [emoji122] [emoji122] [emoji122] We finally started getting rid of mediocrity and deadwood and started strengthening the squad. Kante and Luiz made us much stronger. And when we couldn't improve in quality, we got useful players in Moses and Alonso that unlike Oscar, Iva and Mikel, were consistent and raised our level, even if they were no marvel. One of the few things I totally agree with Mourinho in his last time here (I supported him and the winning that came from his tactics when they worked, but not many of his assessments) is that a team of Azpilicuetas could win you UCL. Sometimes a player doesn't need to be all that amazing. He just needs to be focused, dedicated, serious and have good football skills and the right attitude. I feel like Matic is the name in the starting lineup we needed more improvement on and he clearly isn't in our plans. Ofc we can get Moses and Alonso improvements, but they didn't compromise. I also feel we can do better than Willian and Pedro, but we don't need to be Milan right now and build a new team, we need to improve and adjust. We will continue to improve, get rid of the sub par players and when we can't get the talents, we'll at least get the players that can make a job. I feel we are going in the right direction and if we can continue to mix the Azpilicueta, Costa, Fabregas, Kante deals where we had bargains or paid fair fees with one or other statement signings, not only I'll feel happy, but will continue to brag about our smart deals while others spend hundreds of millions with little to no payoff. Now the one thing I worry about is the thinness of the squad. Unless we decide to use regularly a couple of youngsters, we'll need rotation more than we did last season. We had only two competitions in 2017. We could be in four when 2018 is here. We cannot play only 12 players like we did last year. We need a Matic replacement, we need depth for the wings and ofc we need at least two more strikers, one to lead the way and a third one if we move to 352.
  14. I thought you actually read all the millions links you post. Nobody actually tried for Auba, their CEO said with all letters they never received a bid. I could almost risk a limb and maybe say you're the one who post it. If it was a bet the odds would be 1/100 you posted it...
  15. Sounds, this narrative is easy to be written by any journalist claiming sources. I mean, if in a forum where nobody (except WHS) knows anybody at the club the experts know all of our board moves and Conte's feelings, thoughts and opinions, let alone people that actually get paid to sprout anything that sells... Especially when there's such a demand from people fans and rivals wanting to read just that. It's gullible, really.
  16. That's enough for me now. We have (or should) to be aiming at least reaching an UCL final again in the near future. I'd rather go step by step with manager contracts in the first few years rather than have another Mourinho situation. I think it shows commitment on both parties now and if things go smoothly throughout the first and second year, then we'll talk about long term. I have a hard time believing Conte threatened to leave unless he got a raise, so I suppose it's our way to show him support. Also I believe we renewed or gave him extra reassurances
  17. Conte already said we didn't have the players to play 352 and adding only Baka doesn't change that. So unless we bring the strikers to make it work, no, we won't feature a lineup with this system one single time
  18. Scenes, club makes a statement, manager makes a statement and the forum's know-it-alls go quiet. Typical
  19. I also can only think of his record. And that's supposed to be broken some time. I think now would be a great time. Tbh I still continue to worry about Spurs and I think Pep got a better understanding of everything and with Jesus playing the whole season they're going to do much better. That's it. United, Liverpool, Arsenal will continue to be flukes IMO.
  20. All you spoiled little things can go support Milan or the next rich club, such as City. I'm so fed with you badmouthing this club, the board, nonstop because it doesn't reach your bloody stantard. A little moaning is okay out of frustration, but some of you went way overboard and keep repeating it. Just stfu if you're going to post for the 100th time the same BS. We got it, this club, the board, the injured player we signed all suck and Conte should leave or that if you were him you would. Don't be shy, lead the way.
  21. I do, it's annoying because it's repetitive and also because I think we dodged a bullet, no loss felt at all.
  22. Reselling? Lol, that's even worse reason to ignore a player in his prime. Morata is traveling to Milan and Belotti while welcomed by me, may not be the best partner for another younger player in Mitchy. The argument just got poorer IMO. We have to improve the squad and fill in the void left by Diego, not think about reselling
