There were positives after all. For a moment I had completely lost hope of many more things than this match
-
The two yellows we got at the beginning were too much too. It's fair to say the referee didn't do us any favors
-
I'm here for the Moratita hat trick
-
Whoever said a Morata goal would save this shit storm... You've been granted your wish
-
It's a bit of him getting send out and us not having anyone to come to the rescue with hazard injured. Not even in my wildest nightmares I'd expect us to be this disastrous. Transfers would have helped, but I must concede people have a point in saying this season will be a repeat of two seasons back. The problem goes beyond the transfers though IMO. There's just something that looks essentially wrong
-
Deserved the red. How he can make a play like that become a deserved and totally ridiculous red I'll never know
-
I know is far from ideal, but with all the injuries and Moses suspended, which means almost half the team is off, we still got a decent lineup. The bench isn't good, but you cannot expect to lose four players in midfield and not only start with a decent team, but also have a decent bench too. Think that with the four players back, the starters would be in the bench and the bench nowhere else. We have okay cover for keeper and I'm led to believe CB too, as many of you are against VVD coming because Christensen is capable. We have Morata in the bench, so the attack is covered. Is the midfield that looks bad with our main attacking mids off, as well as one WB and cm.

Same people who wrote us off last season. There are more sensible people here than on TV, albeit not many. Their opinions are as good as yours... Which isn't right or wrong, but I don't get why you made this an argument. We got rid of an average player, who once had a very good season in the title campaign a few years back and who was going to sit in our bench, moved him to be a starter in a rival. We might get another average player, who was also solid in a title a couple of years ago, to be our 4th choice in midfield. See the difference?
-
People here want us to bring those players you mentioned to sit in the bench because according to them that's what our opponents have as their 4th choice... I can't even begin to write what I think about this reasoning Some said we could get other young promising players and some even mentioned Chalobah and RLC. I mean if they think Drinkwater who's played a UCL isn't good enough to be called upon if needed, I wonder those inexperienced, young, promising players they keep mentioning... Just stick to the super teams in videogames because honestly, people lost the grasp of the reality and they haven't even noticed...
-
And why should they? This is business not camaraderie. We gave them a player that had a career here, was indeed a legend, but wanted to leave and has been in the downward curve of his career. Cech wasn't even their titular keeper all the time... They owe us nothing
-
When was the last time they didn't? They spend big every window. When was the last time they were impressive?
-
When and where did I hear something similar? Oh that's right, deadline month and day last season from every other poster around here. Maybe people should start recycling their posts from a year ago. And I'm not only criticizing lack of faith and the team proving anyone wrong, me included, but mainly the same assumption that Manchester clubs would dominate. I saw how dominant they were...
-
People here are weird. They say City has ambition for having 10000 top players for the same position, then in the next breath they speak about integrating youth and the manager being allergic to it, and when they inspire again they talk about depth and finally about positions we should have filled in 3-4 years ago. They don't have a clue about what they want or what the club needs...
-
Still 1x0?
-
You know how ridiculous that sounds, right? Yeah PSG is getting neymar because veratti threw a fit. Absolutely
-
What do you mean by 'not anymore'? There's a whole bloody month still...
-
Which anchor? It looks like you guys didn't watch him at all for the last two and a half years . Slow, soft, late, easily brushed off. I mean, Jose needs a player of his mold, but getting a player clearly in the descending curve of his career is better than them getting someone that would really take them to the next level. It's good money for a 29yo (that's how old he'll be when season starts, can't get over someone discussing he's a 28yo when he's birthday is literally two days away) and most of all it proves Jose still has old ideas going on that caused him more damage than good lately. He's getting obsolete. We do need a replacement though. Xoxo Matic, thanks for the service.
-
Some of you believe he's obssessed with the Manchester teams activity in the market as you are. I doubt it, personally
-
But had one of his brain farts when game resumed and they had a disallowed goal because the striker was offside. It started with a terrible backpass from him followed by a lazy stroll. One play doesn't take the credit away, but that wad typical of him before Conte
-
You just put Azpilicueta in the same bracket as the others... Wait a moment I need to rinse the blood coming out from my eyes reading this
-
Can he take our corners from now on and run to the box to finish them too?
-
Problem then was never lack of games, but starting training too late and too soft. Honestly, two more or less matches make no difference and it is five. Fulham, the three in Asia and the most glorified friendly of all known as community shield. Preseason is about fitness, not amount of friendlies. Conte is known to be anything but soft in his training sessions, so I wouldn't worry about it. In the end we added only the closed doors Fulham friendly. So 4 + CS. Don't need more
-
Because that's the current narrative. I don't believe we actually lost neither. We were interested in both, maybe had bids, but I am so happy to have dodged both. They were the only two players we were linked to that I really didn't want coming here. So whatever really happened behind the scenes, it worked out for us
-
Half of the starting team isn't what it'll be: Christensen, Fabregas, Willian, Boga, Michy, that's literally half of the field players... So if you lose half your team for injuries and suspensions, you're screwed like most teams would. Everybody knows and spoke about us needing upgrades to Alonso and Moses... But I hope we don't ever have to play competition matches without the whole attack, and missing two other titulars...
-
Completely premature assessment. We can't play 3-4-3 against top teams with Fabregas in the team... We talked about this a thousand times. Alonso was doing his best eye marking... Anyway, this is preseason, it's embarrassing, of course, but not the end of the world much less the moment to write off the system [emoji19]
