For all those who are celebrating a holiday at this time of year I hope your holidays are filled with love, laughter, and joy. I hope the New Year brings everyone good health, good fortune, and joy! I will be celebrating with my family in Rome and so I will not be around much in the next few weeks. Take Care Kerry

wow, you need to learn a little tact and perhaps realize I was trying to ask you maybe not in the best way to back off the American bashing. Like everyone here I am proud of my country and I am a long standing member of the community who would appreciate it if you didn't take pot shots at all Americans. Especially when the person instigating the bashing is a twerpy little troll who won't become a worthwhile member of the forum. As to the physics discussion, we will leave that for another discussion so we don't bore everyone else to pieces and I'm not in the mood to debate science, it is why I am no longer in the classroom full time. Did anyone catch the Corinthians Match last night? Anyone know the score or have an update? TIA

Kieran… that good or that bad?

Airfare to Brunei for my daughter to go to her tournament in March (well made the down payment anyway!)

Do we really have to bash the US again? Not all Americans like the system of measurement that we use, but until our government forces a change it's not going to happen… and trust me it's not going to happen. And for the General Physics student, yes, Celsius is more logical and fits in nice with the metric system than Fahrenheit but both scales are in a sense arbitrary since they are based on the freezing and melting points of water and if you were in a world with out water then neither scales would be logical. The fact remains that the only reason those two temperature scales are used is because Fahrenheit and Cesius made the best thermometers and other scientists used them. The standard unit of temperature for industry and science is kelvin. Having said that y'all do know that this is a MEXICAN team, right?? So the goofball picking the fight about weather it is football or soccer has not a leg to stand on since in Mexico the game is called FUTBOL! SO back to the game, it sounds like we have a decent chance and the lads are doing well in training. I am hoping for a good solid win without injuries!

I think she'll be relieved that is what you are bookmarking! LOL Take it from a mum, she'll be glad that's it books about football that you've booked marked and not something naughty!
-
I can totally see you as a barkeep LOL but seriously were you the inspiration behind the game "super banana" on Facebook? LOL
-
Anyone who plays it and follows international football knows it is the real football :blue scalf: … but what do I know I'm just a silly American! LOL alright lads, who left the door open and let in all the trolls? SIGH I have to admit I am sitting here laughing at y'all whining about the game time because much like the lads in Australia, it is finally at a decent time of the day for me! Most of the games are on between midnight and 4 am here! This one will be on at 6:30 pm!!! Think I might have to see which pub will be showing it! :blue scalf: I hope we win and I really wish I could have gone to the game, it is hell knowing the lads are so close yet still so far away Japan is just too expensive for me to justify flying there for one or two very expensive games. especially when Christmas is so close.

Anthony, When cutting out your carbohydrates make sure you aren't sacrificing your fibre. Most Americans don't get enough fibre as it is but you'll need to make sure you choose your veggies to make up for the ones you'll lose in the carbs. Have you tried box fit? It's the exercise fitness behind boxing, it's a great total body workout and good for toning.

Anthony, Thank you for listening to what I had to say and apologizing. It means a lot to me that you apologized and took my comments seriously. We all need to think about what we say and post before we do, it would serve us well actually consider what we say and how it impacts others. Also, how what we write and say reflects upon us. Thank you again! Kerry

I was being constructive, I was trying to point out that it is offensive and hurtful which falls under "mental well-being". Thank you, Spike and Kieran, it's nice to know someone has understood what I was trying to say. Weightier matters: for those of you using the protein supplements please tell your doctor that you are using them. The high level of protein can have detrimental effects on you body especially on your kidney functions.

I am aware of that but it's still disgusting and rude and saying your joking doesn't make that better. I am not some young girl that is easily offended, I am a grown woman who has dealt with plenty of dumb comments and insults. Why is it acceptable to make degrading remarks about women? Because the board is mostly boys?
-
I am happy we won and hope the trend continues. I hope the team continues to meld together and hopefully what ever fire Rafa has lit under Torres stays lit… but I will wait and see, it is early yet. I will also pray that no one gets injured in Japan like David Villa did last year. I don't like games that take players so far away and out of the "normal routine". That flight from England to Japan (and back) plus the time change is going to be rough in such a short amount of time. I hope the do well but I hope there isn't an impact on the season.

I've been lurking more here and not posting for a few reasons … the main one is the words in red above …. I realize there aren't a lot of women on the board but there are a few of us and statements like this and others I have seen are offensive and honestly make me what to shake some sense into you. Or wash your mouth out with soap and send you to cotillion until you learn some respect and manners. I pity any girl you date at this point in time. I would be happy to join in and add to the conversation and offer some advice and share some knowledge but will not as long as the attitude toward women is so base and disgusting.
-
I hope to goodness we win, I have resigned myself to the fact that Torres will start. I am dressed in my new Hazard jersey and will be rooting for my boys! Has anyone heard what the line up will be? JT is still out I assume after the announcement that he won't be going to Japan. Is Lamps back? KTBFFH

I love Chelsea pi's and a Hazard home jersey (women's cut)

I hope you did better than you think you did! Good luck!

Just in case he does not respond, I know he has exams soon. Just so everyone knows. Jaimin, best of luck

Happy Birthday, Jaimin! I hope your day is amazing! I hope your dreams come true! Love ya! AK

Happy Birthday, Nicola! I hope your day is as amazing as you are! Love ya! Kerry

I am saying my prayers and looking for any good luck charm/symbol I can find! I am happy the game is on at a time I can stay awake long enough to watch it!
-
I am absolutely over the moon! :blue scalf: My daughter made the team which will travel to compete in a U-13 tournament in 4 sports (football/basketball/athletics/swimming). I am very proud of her even if she found out on Wednesday and forgot to tell me! She is amazing!
-
I read a lot but don't comment much. Yougs and Cara have been massively busy with family but I do miss their input. Nicola is busy with university and I miss her too!

Welcome! We will give you lots of practice for your English! Unfortunately, you will learn all the "naughty words" first probably! LOL Please stick around and post a lot!
