Toure is better at defending though. attacking-wise he is surely better, but defending, he is also ok at it. dont even get why people compare yaya to matic. yaya is on another level and probably the best DM in the Premier League. Especially in the beginning of his city time he took a more defensive role than now. @lionseden one could also say that people are overrating him massively, if they are starting to compare him to Yaya Toure.

well, there arent that many DMs left of his type. you forgot the other Bender from Leverkussen and probably other players too (for example khedira). and I wouldnt rate him as one of the best. he has not proved himself in a top league, he wasnt that good in the CL this year etc. he is a good player, but no way I would rank him amongst the top DMs of this world. Martine/De Rossi/ Busquets and Co are all 1-2 classes above him at the moment. He is a good kid, but I would no way pay more than 20 m for him. maximum 25 m. everyhting above this would be madness.

its not an opinion to say that he has not the hype of hazard. thats a clear fact. about class/potential we can talk, yes, but not about the hype. hazards hype was enormous and of course its unfair to compare him with Matic. still, matic will be 26 tomorrow and with 26 you are already kinda a solid player. when we signed eden he was 21? 22?. thats a big difference. I dont think that Matic has left that much room for improvement anymore, but thats just my opinion. most players are already more or less finished in their evolution with 26/27 and only get better due to experience but not in general on their skills and attributes.

he is still nowhere near Hazards hype or potential or class. Hazard was hunted by nearly all clubs in this world, Matic is also 3 or 4 years older. and portugese player of the season aint thaaat impressive. he has not proved himself much to be honest.

just proved my argument. you havent watched one game from him 2 seasons ago. he played on the wings mostly, because of falcao. thats why he didnt score much, because their game was based upon Falcao. he still got 10 goals AND 12 assists. thats not uninmpressive if you ask me, for someone, who only plays the second fiddle to the top tier striker. he was already a beast the season before. and he was great for Rayo Vallecano too.

we didnt have one shot on target until our goal..how did we produce chances so? we were awful in the 1st half and got better by introducing Eden. well, its kinda hard to see, that a top team cant create one chance against championship side. I did not expect to beat them by 5-0 or something like that, but at least creating chances with a line-up which is pretty close to our best.

Varane showed his talent from the beginning. he wasnt used that much in his 1st season, yes, but you could see his talent from day 1.

there is difference between an 19 year old kid or somebody who is 25 and already playing football for years at high level. especially at young age you make much more mistakes and you have much more flaws. he will be more a long-term solution but not somebody who will help us short-term. and i doubt that our club will wait for a player 2 or 3 years to develop. I dont see him at Varanes level, who performed at a high level immediately.

being physically well build isnt everything. he still has his flaws, especially in terms of on-the ground battles and positioning. I think he needs 1-2 years at least before we can talk about him being a starting-lineup defender for our side.

you forgot the cahill thread. 3 weeks ago he was a pile of crap and now he seems to be next to god. Schürrlle has had a decent season so far. most of his games he played really well, his last games werent so good, but he isnt used to the christmas-playing time because in germany there is a long break etc. also he admitted by himself that he needs to adapt and get some muscles on etc. I think that he hwas way more potential than Moses and is actually better than Moses (even though moses would be a good back-up too)

its a tough situation really. I dont think he will let himself be loaned out one more time. he knows that plenty of clubs would take him in a heartbeat. on the other side, cech is playing really good and there are no real reasons to drop him. really a tough tough decision...
