I see this as a test for Carlo's man management skills. He has to find the core of the problem and solve the problem before it rots away. But i hope there is no stubborness in the way to resolve the main problem, the fact is that we have had a system that has worked for a couple of years, and like every system, it comes to a point where it is needed to be updated to keep it up to the highest standard. We have already gotten read of the 'dead wood' as to say, but where is the new components to replace? Either we need to start giving people Kakuta, Sturridge, McEarhan, PvA, Bruma, etc. a chance, or dip into the transfer pond or otherwise we are going to dwell into the abyss.

PL should be number one thought for us, and maybe the FA Cup. Leave CL for next year when we have brought in the players we need in the summer.

Anelka is a top class player, and like what has been said, he is just tired. And, that's is where Kakuta/Sturridge should be used in order to give the guy a break. You have to remember, that when he joined Arsenal he started as a winger and then Wenger started to use him as a forward. Maybe that could be the reason why he hasn't been defending the right side as it should, nor why he was deep. He is simply the best finisher we have, Borini and Sturridge i think are the only ones with the potential to have the same skill at finishing like him. I hope he is given a rest soon so he can start a goalscoring streak and show the doubters here is still a big part to a small depth team.

why is Bilic always rumoured to be line of contention everytime there is a vacant role at a Premier League club? I think Mike Ashley just used him to get Newcastle's credibility to a point where he is out in the shadows, and was just waiting for a point in time to get rid of him while they were in the PL to hire someone who would be a big name. Kalou is useless as a winger because he hasn't got the trickery, crossing ability, nor the strength to get the ball into dangerous eras. Kalou is an PL average striker, he can score the odd goal that is decent if the goalkeeper's timing is delayed by defending fault or lack of vision, he has the speed to run on to defences mistakes and to run off the defender, sometimes he has a tendacy to run off the ball to a position that is, somewhat, forward, mostly causing the offside. Kalou is basically the kind of player that someone West Ham need, or Bolton, not for potential Champions League challengers and title chasers. Sturridge has potential to be a good player; he has a good right foot which we saw in pre-season, he has speed, he has trickery, i think he does have a nice first touch which he has shown in the game today on the edge of the box. He has some good finishing, not the best in the world. Whilst Sturridge hasn't got strutter to go on and change the game completely, his presence sometimes can change the teams performance if he is used right, which imo Carlo hasn't. He is four years younger then Kalou and should replace him in whatever role he has. Borini, on the other hand, is a 'goal hanger' someone which would be used at Man Utd, he can finish chances and has the speed to pounce. He has agility and awareness of what goes on. He is important, in my eyes, and we should be the club he is at when he gets to full development with his talent.

The performance wasn't that of a team that were champions. Our right backs were awful, Ferreira played better then Bos, Drogba was the only forward to was going for it in the second half, Kalou was like a ghost and how he was on for a full 90 mins i dont know. Somthing needs to change, imo, and something fast. We need to play the ball more on the ground with fluent off the ball movement and to be ready to be physical when it is needed. Tbf though, we should have gotten a second pen.

Carroll is 20, Lukaku is 17. Carroll has PL experience, and Lukaku has CL expreince. Would you rather have Shearer or a younger Drogba?

He has a mold of Shearer imo, and £7 million would be a steal! But he would most likely go at 10-15 million. Would rather have Lukaku, but he is making a name for himself in the EPL.
