  1. Been really chesty of late, coughing and spluttering all over. Think I picked up a bug at that shit hole Pontins last weekend.
  2. Well, seems this is heading in a direction I didn't expect. I said last night he isn't the box to box midfielder of the likes of Ramires or Paul Pogba but what Cesc would offer would be a quickness of mind and not speed across the floor. He's never been quick, nor has he ever been a grass blade covering machine that is blowing out of his arse after 60 minutes, he's a clever minded footballer that offers a touch of finesse that can deliver or unlock a tight defense with a clinical pass or a deft 1-2 into space. What we will be getting is a player that knows this league inside out and knows exactly what it takes to succeed here but also a bonus for me is the lack of time it will take him to adapt to his role at Chelsea. The price banded around is around the 30M mark, that's not a lot considering he's 27, has a dearth of talent, and is arguably in his prime years as a footballer. Some might say his tackling is an issue, well I would agree, he isn't the best, but look what he would potentially have next to him.....the best litter picker in the world in Matic. Matic will be the one who undertakes the donkey work in that role, Cesc would potentially just be the dot on the 'i' but with a far more prominent role in the attacking third of the field supporting Willian/Oscar/Hazard/Costa (If purchased) All of this is hypothetical of course because he has not yet signed, but the news reports are sounding more and more likely that we are trying hard to secure his signature. Me personally I am not a fan of Fabregas the person and how he came across at Arsenal, but then again I was the same with Ashley Cole, hey we are football fans, we put things aside because the love for our club. The big picture here is he ticks the boxes, the right boxes, the boxes we need. I don't think we could ever replace Frank, his goals and his off the field persona for this club but I think a move for Cesc makes a massive amount of sense in that he can contribute offensively and chip in with important goals, he has a lot of pluses over head and negatives I am trying hard to find. Lets wait and see how this pans out, but personally we could make worse transfers like Paulinho. Our kitty is stacked right now and we have freed up a lot in wages with sales of Luiz, Lampard leaving and possibly Cole too, setting the stall out this summer and getting the right players is key. This is probably the most important window for many years because of the positions we need to strengthen. We all know a striker is paramount, then LB and this position we are speaking of now, it just has to be nailed by the club and I am sure they will get it right. CAREFREE!!
  3. The sheer meltdown from Arsenal fans if this happens is actually leaning me to hope this happens. I think the internet would collapse.
  4. They're all battling for the same headline, the first one across the line and all that. It's a real lucky bag when it comes to who gets it right etc but there is better and more reliable ones out there that should be held in a little bit more regard than others. This time of year is just a minefield of mental information that can replace alcohol if you really want it too.
  5. Balague is also not the be all of Spanish football either.
  6. It's not the most ideal of situations but the decision has to come sometime. For me he has to come back and start immediately, regardless of what situation we have with Cech. I'm one of the bigger Cech fans on here but I really do think the time is bang on to get this kid back here and let him show everyone why he is held in high regard.
  7. From El Mundo.. The departure of Cesc Fàbregas is priceless. The Barcelona midfielder has priced club Arenys at 36 million euros, a figure that will recover the investment in your day. Chelsea are the club of the Premier has already reached an agreement with the player and that, therefore, has all the aces in hand to finish counting Cesc in its ranks, after confirming the departure of Frank Lampard to New York City.
  8. I have got friends in Alicante and they have said it's all over their local news and every sports bulletin on air.

  10. It has come to light of late that a lot of topics are being derailed by constant bickering, moaning and members dragging arguments from one thread to another on a constant basis. The staff would like to remind every single member of Talk Chelsea that this will not be tolerated in any shape or form. The transfer window always raises good debate in the most, and we want to keep it that way and keep the forum running smoothly and effectively on a daily basis. We are finding of late that reading back through threads that we have to constantly sift through endless posts that do not relate to the said topic, and this has to stop. We ask all members to make our job easy by staying on topic, being civil and also remaining within the forum rules, and if you see anything out of line or feel threatened then contact a member of staff and it will be dealt with in a correct manner. From this point, and anyone not taking this on board will be warned and dealt with if it continues. So please, make our job easier and do your job by sticking to topic without digs at people or derailing threads. Thanks Talk Chelsea Staff.
  11. No better feeling than sitting down with your kids telling them about the likes of Frank, Zola etc. My son is 8 now and plays for a local team and is at an age now were he is very inquisitive about football and always asks about all the old players. He's seen Frank play, he knows exactly what he's about but he loves listening to stories about Zola and the likes.....special times ahead for you Gary.
  12. STOP THE BICKERING AND GET BACK ON TOPIC, THIS IS THE FINAL TIME OF ASKING.
  13. Watching back some of his goals and it's hard to choose his best, it really is. What a man.
  14. Take it to PM's because people in here want to talk about Fabregas and not read constant rubbish from you two. Sort it please.
  15. His game isn't pace though, his pace is in his brain. He's a very clever footballer and rotates the ball very well and keeps play ticking over constantly. Technically very good. Him next to Matic could be brilliant.
  16. If he was dropped into the Indian Ocean I am sure he would be seen swimming down the Thames two hours before kick off shouting "Won't be long"
  17. They need a top quality defender desperately too.
  18. I'm not saying he isn't good, he is, but they look to have Liverpool over the barrel with their pants down right about now.
  19. They are talking about upwards of 30M now for this lad. That is stupid.
