I dont think Werder is a bad option tbh (if he doesnt get much playtime here).
Since there he really gets a free role, everything goes trough him and he gets a lot of faith from fans/board/manager there + he plays everything in one of the best leagues of the world... i honestly dont see how much better it can get than that for a talent to develop...
As in Athletico fe he might not get such a role, not many big teams let a 20 year old be their playmaker... also because usually they already have a good one. (see hazard @ chelsea)

Well may be this was bad business concerning Marin, but i'm sure he didn't show all the talent he's got. Today is the kind of game he should have started while resting Mata and Oscar should be the nb 10 again!
But the loan was great for KDB no doubt about that.

Yeah, I agree, he's way too direct to be playing in the pivot. More reason for us to switch to a 4-3-3, it'll benefit everyone except Mata, but not like Mata can't play in a 4-3-3, he just wouldn't be as good but surely we should try it next season.
Cech
Azpi - Luiz - Terry - Cole
Mikel
Ramires - KDB/Oscar
Mata - Ba - Hazard

Had a good first half but was terrible in the second, kept making bad decision after the other. Trying too hard may be. I think he should start against Brentford. Give a him a run of games to see if he improves.

They've been playing some good football and are rarely out-played, but the defense has been their achilles heel.

Marin makes it 1-0 to Chelsea on 52 mins. A solo effort, cutting inside and accurately finding the bottom corner from 20 yards

He's gonna fi in easily

That's just harsh on him. He played 45 min where we didn't create any chances and we played like amateurs on even more amateur pitch. So I don't,think anyone in the first half, when Marin played, deserved any praise, they were just awful... I hope he'll get more starts since Hazard is banned...patience folks...

He'll get at least 3 starts now, due to Hazard's situation. If we end up selling him we must replace him. A Meireles/Essien situation is not needed.

De Bruyne is the most gifted of all Belgian players IMO. While some combine athleticism with technical skills (Hazard, Kompany,..). KDB has the most 'pure talent'. I don't get this debate on his tackling abilities. He's an attacking player not a defensive one. Pirlo playes as a defensive midfielder but he hardly ever makes tackles. It's all about the players around him who do the dirty work. same for KDB

Actually that's not strictly the case. You're restricted by the director's choices. When you see a player in person you can watch everything he does, the way he moves around the pitch and even his body language. It's why scouts are invaluable to clubs.
So you don't end up with another Bebe.

Because statistics don't tell the whole story. They need interpretation, which is why they're helpful to interpret what you see on the pitch but aren't a good substitute for that.
It's why some of us still like to watch the matches.

So far from what I have witnessed De Bruyne's passing range and selection is better than Hazards. I do love Eden but KDB has a special passing game in my humble opinion.

Yeah, was going to say it must take into account assists, key passes etc. I think Ramires' passing is really underrated for the role that he plays. Sure it could be better but I certainly wouldn't say it's weak. Regarding the Ba point, whenever I've seen him his hold up play has been good, but as you say Torres is woeful in this regard, and even previously Drogba could be clumsy at times when keeping it. I'm only going by his time at Bremen, and I would say 'very weak' is quite harsh (76% success is pretty good infact) I didn't see him at all at Genk so maybe he has improved since then, and the rating reflects his time there to?
Don't get me wrong, I wasn't arguing because I think he should play in the pivot, I actually don't think he should (been back and fourth). He could probably develop and do a decent job there, but I don't think it will totally suit him or be worth the hassle in the end (when we have someone like Oscar more suited). De Bruyne's playstyle is too aggressive for the pivot, both with his passing and running with the ball. I'd like to see him on the right or behind the ST where he can utilize his strengths fully.
I think a lot of people see De Bruyne and want to fit him in the team anywhere possible. We see the attack with the likes of Mata, Hazard etc and wonder how he would get in, and he's too talented not to be playing every week.

Look at it from his point of view. At least, he will sit around a warmer bench there. It certainly beats cold London.

joni2605 reacted to TorontoChelsea in π©πͺ Marko Marin
Agreed. You need to give players some time to show what they can do. Marin has had what, one Premier League start? I think we need to play him fairly regularly while Moses is away because he provides real width and he crosses into the box much more regularly than anyone else we have which, I think, suits Ba and frees up Hazard and Mata to play more centrally. Maybe he won't ever be good enough for Chelsea, but it's way too early to make that call.

joni2605 reacted to LDN Blue in π©πͺ Marko Marin
The real disappointment yesterday was for about 80 minutes whenever the team tried to play wide, the end crosses were woeful. Azpilicueta did very well running the flank, but he couldn't put a ball with either any trajectory or power, or sometimes both. When Marin came on, his first cross found a fine Ba head!
Marin is a proper winger. He's smart. He doesn't just run the channel and cross it, he allows players to gather inside but cutting inside and holding the ball. He should see some more game time against opposition like this, because direct football doesn't work, taking advantage of width does.
