  1. Why British journalists have to be so clueless and don't ask about tactics or style of play ? Why ANYBODY, literally ANYBODY didn't ask Jose yet if he thinks that our pressing game and transition needs improvement, why he doesn't play Filipe for example, all that things. In Spain they're sensation-seeking bastards too but they at least ask a genuine interesting questions about system of play and certain players fitting (or not) into that system.
  2. To paraphrase Arsenal fans, Oscar performance still needs explaining. The way he fucked up all our attacks whenever he kicked the ball, unreal.
  3. The overhaul we have to do. Yeah, that's really overhaul. Bigger than I thought. Not messing around, please ZERO stop gap signings who happen to be easy obtainable. Last month was a talk about Enner fking Valencia ... WTF. Fast, proactive, ball playing defender - Varane !! Physical midfielder with good technique - Vidal/Pogba !! Proper offensive player who can keep the ball under pressure and doesn't lose the ball when pushing from the back - Koke !! Technical striker - Icardi !! If not, better find a player in the youth set up.
  4. But he'd be bad for matches when opposition park the bus. For that kind of money you expect player to be exceptional in every circumstances.
  5. But even at the start of the season we couldn't apply watchable style of play against any good side.
  6. But he isn't "emotionally stable" to cope with the pressure you know. What's funny neither is Oscar or Willian
  7. I hope he hands his Premier League winning medal to Cech or whoever who doesn't have enough games to receive one.
  8. Filipe claxon ! Is that his opportunity FINALLY ? This team can't press at all. Only Azpilicueta has real top class abilities in pressing game. And guess who will make way if Filipe will come in ?
  9. Let's not make him some substandard pub-player. Our system of play is specific in that our players endures more of individual duels. Especially against bigger teams our offensive players, through our approach, are isolated to very big extent. Just look how Diego Costa can't cope with it, Salah, Schurrle, Fabregas I think it will be the same with Cuadrado. Oscar of course too. Our system just require a fantastic individual skills to keep the ball from such a huge pressure every time, only Hazard possess that skills and Willian to some extend. That's why I would like to upgrade from Oscar to some brilliant technique and strong on his feet type who would cope with that demands. Koke for example. Oscar is good/very good player. He has 50 caps already for Brazil at the age of 23. That alone can fetch big sum. Personally think that he would fit in many teams. Unfortunately, he doesn't possess pressing resistant technique so he always will struggle with our approach against bigger teams. He would thrive in other league and in other team. Juventus for example. Hell, I think even in Bayern when he could use his intelligence, Pep would figure out how to fits him into the system. He has many skill sets which are very good. Also winter breaks would do him good.
  10. Cech ------------ >>> some homegrown goalkeeper Cahill ------------ >>> Varane Ramires --------- >>> Vidal or some strong, physical and technical midfielder Mikel ------------- >>> ? or Ruben Loftus-Cheek if he can learn his trade from Matic Oscar ------------ >>> Koke Remy ------------- >>> Icardi I think for those upgrades we won't spend much than 50m of pounds net.
  11. I agree. People need to be realistic. We know the facts about Diego Costa is that he's 26 years old, has enormous trust from the manager so he can play poor for extensive period of time and still giving chance after chance. Today will be another example. And the fact that he'll be here for a long time. Now we know that Remy is treated here as another Ba, stop gap signing who happened to be cheap. He won't be here much for a long. And now there's lots of talk about Chelsea signing another forward. Di Marzio already said that we're gonna pursuit Mauro Icardi, also his agent said that we're one of interested teams (or that was Dybala's agent but for sure some of those two). I can imagine that we're gonna buy Icardi or Dybala. Let's say Icardi. So, here's the thing. We will have Diego Costa who is 26 and Icardi who is 22. Let's say that Icardi will be treated here more fairly than Remy, because he will be more expensive and more of pre-planned transfer, maybe even Jose type. They will split the time between each other giving manager an option to choose. So, between them their average age will be 24. 24. There's lot and lots and lots of football at the highest level. And you think how much of a time will Bamford have ? Some dead minutes against "Maribor", some "Shrewsbury" games. Not much. And the most important thing is our manager is pretty allergic to rotation. Many of our international players already got that. International players mind. Not some kid. Besides, in a team who plays 1 guy upfront, 2 forwards are enough. So if we're gonna integrate Bamford I can imagine that it has to happen next season and he has to be given 2nd choice spot. Can you imagine one or the other ? Me neither.
  12. We wouldn't win a Champions League anyway (still I have a bad taste when I think about this) but now I'm more disappointed that we went out of the Cup, against Bradford at home, winning 2:0. With the situation at the table now, we wouldn't be pressed to split the focus between Fa Cup and the league and actually put a real challenge for all 3 domestic trophies. Pity !
  13. More like Azpilicueta Azpilicueta - Azpilicueta - Azpilicueta - Azpilicueta Azpilicueta - Azpilicueta Azpilicueta - Azpilicueta - Azpilicueta Azpilicueta Mourinho would love that. You can't say this team lacks character. And we may be decent in the pressing game. However I'd go like this Courtois Azpilicueta - Zouma - JT - Filipe Luis Matic - Fabregas Cuadrado - Oscar - Hazard Diego Costa Pressing to have more transitions and genuine overlapping, so more quality in the final third when playing positional attack. Would love if there'll be place for RLC on the bench. If we are gonna play with proper intensity we will beat them. Last time we quickened our game vs them in the second half, we were on them for almost whole time.
  14. To clarify, I don't say that Baker's shortage are crucial to not making it, I say that because he hasn't got great physical abilities (at least worse than average lower league midfielder when usual it's more about physique) he can't impose himself with limited playing time he gets. He can adjust when he will get time but because there's a pressure to be ready now he won't get that time. It's a vicious circle.
  15. But if you're wondering why Baker doesn't play I read that his coaches think that he isn't ready yet. Clearly a talented player but has an issue with coping with match demands. Basically they think that the bridge between U21 and competitive game even at 3rd tier level is too big and he isn't ready yet for that. Of course lack of athleticism doesn't help a one bit in picking him. I call it bullshit. While I doesn't consider him a special player, he's at least Championship level currently. But you can't blame other coaches. Players like Baker has simply many difficulties down the road. He has clearly something about him but can't impose himself in a short period of time. And through this period of adjusting, thanks to his lack of physical abilities and small size, he can look bloody awful so it's natural that coaches will choose other and safer options. They have a result pressure too. That's why I don't get why B teams can't play at least at League Two level. Jesus, it wouldn't cause a harm but it would help many young players to be ready when they go on loan or try to breakthrough into the first team. The whole idea of forbidding someone who has a money for that to form a B team is sick for me.
  16. Chelsea intensifies scouting Youri Tielemans. They're on Anderlecht matches on regular basis. There you go the chances of Baker to making it here. Chelsea quicker buy another of that type. To be fair for me Baker is talented but it will be very hard for him to making it at the top level. Lots of hard work and determination. There're lots of talented youngsters in the Chelsea Academy or on loan but only a few really special and he's not that one for me. If you seriously wants to introduce some youngster, you have to choose the ones you consider the best and nurture them. It's impossible when you try to have several irons in the fire. At this level you have to be harsh on someone but you choose 2 of the best of the bunch and wish the best for the rest (with buy back clause). That's my way of thinking how you introduce the youth at this level with keeping competitiveness. Better to focus on RLC for a midfield position.
  17. I don't get that when people say that our "whole" team is responsible for this or that and whole team played poorly. It gets an incredible bad luck to have everyone on the same bad page at the same time to start with. For real, in football ONE THING can cause a massive chain reaction. Look at Madrid, they got 22 winning streak, Modric got an injury and they look shambles and hopeless. But of course "whole team plays poorly" but I am sure that when Luka gets to his full flow again they will be flying. And for Chelsea you can't say that the whole team can't defend the lead. So we have 11 men who can't do this ? No, it has his roots somewhere. I think Magic Lamps put this great in one of his posts a few days. Everything starts with defence. And for me Ivanovic and Cahill are two players who are responsible for our flaws, for our retreats, for this conservative approach in so many matches. Their attitude, style and traits cause a massive chain reaction in our team and hold us back. They have to be replaced soon.
  18. Ruben I think. Well he's the only one. Chalobah might be an option but he's forgotten man apparently. If Jose wants to dwell on RLC then it's the best pick. Baker, Swift, Colkett doesn't stand much of a chance. Mou when he uses a youngster he ensures that he's physically imposing at the young age, Mikel, Santon, Varane, Zouma and now RLC everyone at least 6'2" that's not a coincidence.
  19. Everyone has his opinions and I have mine. He has a talent and neat technique but his nonchalant style is for me very frustrating. If we're talking about typical ball-playing CM for me this guy has to control the game ala Xavi style (saving proportion) not be someone who pops up with a nice opening ball every 10 or 15 minutes. I just doesn't like those players and to be fair don't see how Charlie would make that into top level. He has so many bridges to gap. He doesn't has many things to his game currently bar those nice little balls over the top ... not physical, not combative, doesn't drive forward into the box and when he sits deep he doesn't control games enough. And is so fucking nonchalant, how he supposedly have a drive to push for a top level ? In the last aspect he's Josh "content" McEachran all over again. You think that anyone would appreciate that while he would be on loan ? He'd root on the bench. He will be 19 next season, I'd SELL him to some Spanish club with buy back option. He has traits that there in Spain may be appreciated with environment which suits him. Loan to Championship would be hilarious.
  20. The fact that we endure a French raid tell me a one thing - that we're considered a really top side, ELITE, in the footballing world right now. I'm talking about prestige and all that stuff. Everyone during those 12 years should be thanked. The corner is turned.
  21. I watch him practically every weak, depends when they play. This guy has a special talent, it's obvious. I was very interested in him ever since I saw him in an Asian Tour in 2013. Well, even before that. He had in earliest FMs the highest potential in Chelsea youth and I didn't even know who this guy is. Why he doesn't play at all when I watch youth ? Then only in 2013 I discovered what is going on. Chelsea practically keep him since 2010 but there were shady deals why they can't sign him before turning 18. Anyway, there's a reason why Chelsea even bothered in a first place. Mourinho already said that they're waiting for a work permit. He said that this kid is "emotionally stable" (he likes this word very much, doesn't he ?) and is ready to make an impact. Mourinho, when talking youth, often talks about emotional stability in them and if they cope with pressure. At least a couple of times he said that he has to get his work permit because he's playing in a senior national team since 15. Like I said, I really like Bertrand as a player. Here's why. 1. He has absolutely exquisite technique. For real. First touch always first class. He controls ball brilliantly. In Poland we often say that "a ball doesn't trouble him" when we want to say in funny way that somebody has technique. Yep, a ball definitely doesn't trouble Bertrand at all. His coach in Vitesse said that he never saw someone with that technique and he passes even his hardest challenges in training with ease. 2. He has very good vision. In his debut with first contact with the ball he immediately showed unorthodox thinking. I said to myself "like what" ? He really sees thing differently, a whole new set of ways where to pass. He knows how to wait that extra second to pass the ball in time, it's natural for him. You either have it or don't. And to be fair he's waisted as a centre forward in that regard because that feature is not utilized enough. 3. He has fantastic physical traits. It's evident that muscles are eager to grow on him. He's significantly broader and quicker compared to last year. He's really, really fast. With added muscles he can handle himself better. He makes tens of sprint every match at the same intensity and that says he has a very good stamina too. Don't know how he'd cope with match every 3 days but playing every week he's showing that athletically he's very good. Technique + vision + athleticism = a gem of a player He scores a lot currently but I don't think that centre forward is his final position. Versatility is very good, but he has so much to his game that in better teams would be used better. He evidently to me would thrive with better environment. He is eager to play a passing game but with Vitesse team it's difficult. That's why he is playing as a centre forward. He strikes the ball very well and has superb athleticism so in Vitesse team it's better when he plays upfront. But he has lots of potential left to be used. To be fair I think he'll be with Chelsea next season if he secures his work permit. But there's big IF. With new rules to meet work permit criteria, for some it will be easier, for some harder. No appeals. A special talent work permit has to be obtained for him. And it'll be difficult.
  22. Imagine if we have some sort of buy back clause and get Kevin for cheap. We would be trolling transfer world to death. Was Willian even a Mourinho transfer ? We were very interested in him for a long time. He even dumped winter trainings with Shakhtar in January 2013 to force the transfer to Chelsea, eventually to land in Anzi. Then Anzi had financial problems and we offered a help. It's strange that we signed Willian given Mourinho's huge summer appreciation towards Kevin ... Who even does a transfer dealing in this club !?
  23. The state of defenders this days is that I don't know who to consider world-class. For example, one of the elite defender this season, I mean a top 5, is Naldo. Last season was Benatia. Godin was clearly the best in 2014. Boateng, Hummels, the guys who are ticking bombs and can explode any time are widely regarded as a world-class defenders.
  24. Congratulations to you. Your team could and should really finish us in the first leg. Even though we were 2 times like 6 minutes from qualification I wouldn't be overly happy. Chelsea for me is not ready for Europe. We would need a 2012 luck to reach the final. Our manager is clearly pissed off of some players who lacks character when big moment arrives - I expect important changes in the summer. If Jose will get more of his players, we will be better prepared for that challange. BE READY. To be honest we didn't play any of the big match the best way. We always let opposition to have final big chances at the end of the game. We can't kill game nor hold on lead without letting opposition getting their chances. In matches like PSG this season we scored usually from a set piece or some isolated situation, taken out of context of the match. We have pretty big way to go to play the manner we want. We lack intesity, proper pressing and playing accurately at a high speed when we counter-attack. We are ruining so many half-chances with back ward passes to kill a good counter-attack. But I hope we will get there. To be fair my combining PSG - Chelsea XI would look like this : Courtouis Azpilicueta - Thiago Silva - John Terry/David Luiz - Filipe Luis Matic - Matuidi Veratti Lucas Moura - Eden Hazard Cavani We're really even I think. Good luck for you in the quarter-final even though much will depend on the draw. I predict that neither Chelsea nor PSG stand much of a chance against full flow Barcelona, Bayern or Real Madrid. Oh, and congratulations for bringing Rabiot on at 81 minute when you needed a goal. We have often discussion here about youth and how to bringing them to the first team. We have one of the best Academy in Europe but not a single player got to the first team after JT 17 years ago. I can tell you that a chance that Mourinho would bring a youth player from Academy to help him score a goal in that moment is very very slim.
  25. Well, currently he's way more like Yaya Toure or Vidal than Matic. He has his driving runs through the middle with the ball. Also he's currently pretty average with passing. He has very good technique from a man of his size. He's fast enough and agile too. Where he'll end up is another question. Matic when he first signed was seen as a number 10. Ruben can still switch to more defensive role although, he's supposedly learning from Matic, but I rather see him in a more offensive role. I'd certainly play Ruben over Ake, seriously I don't think Ake has a future here. If Jose is choosing the ones who he will dwell on, then RLC is a good pick alongside Jeremie Boga, who I hope will get a look in from next season.
