It's hard not to be sentimental when it comes to Lampard, he is the greatest Chelsea player ever, and that's speaking objectively. I'd love him to accept that one year extension and have a similar role as the two United legends enjoy under Ferguson. Unlikely as it is..
The 'key' players listed, the ones who WILL be instrumental (or not) to our success in the short term do not have experience. The forward line especially. Ashley Cole HAS to stay, that can't be stressed enough, Lamps should stay on a wage reduction and a Giggs/Scholes role in the side.
Lukaku >>>>> Sturridge Nice bit of business from the club, Sturridge will become a Defo/Walcott type player in terms of 'status', not a world beater, he will never be world class.
Yep, same here, threads are not appearing as read, they remain blue, before they would turn grey once read. Every forum has this feature, it's just not practical having to mark the ENTIRE forum as read every time you visit.
We should sign 'A' striker regardless of his 'apparent' form, it doesn't have to be a mega star like Falcao, naturally though.. this is where scouting comes into play.
It's all about it being in conjunction with 'our' history, and how we compare/Roman's Chelsea (title haul) with City's, a club who will be rightfully compared to us due to the respective owners (club model). It also lessens Jose's achievements here, it shows 'on the surface' (think how future generations will perceive it) as any club can come along and splash the cash and that Mourinho & Mancini's 'back to back title' reigns were equal in that sense.
Mourinho doesn't deserve his 'back to back' title record at this club to be equaled by Mancini either. I'd say that was more important, than the 'write off' that is this seasons title race.
Fuck yea, our Roman museum hasn't been set on fire just yet, Mancini might not equal Jose's record after all. C'mon United, do it for Chelsea's Roman era (indirectly of course).
For the logical & comprehensive reasons I've stated over and over and over again. Every post I've mentioned those reasons, are you suffering from a concussion? The way you've worded/structured that last line beggars belief.
Pep & Jose' will be around for a long time, we can't keep hoping Mancini wins the title every season (in the process demolishing our legacy) just so he remains at the helm. Which would take the gloss off our own achievements (as a billionaire club) either way. United's trophy pile is so high, another title for them is like a season that never happened/impact wise.
I care about legacy, I care about what history will think about those rich/transformed clubs in comparison to each other. If Mancini equals Mourinho's special reign, it will lose all value, the sheikhs want Roman's legacy in the shadows
^ No, because City & Chelsea are two clubs with rich owners, City winning it 'back to back' sends out the wrong messages about transformed clubs who splashed the cash and will tarnish what Mourinho achieved here (which was special). equaling UTD's trophy haul is unattainable, thus the 'damage has already been done' line.
