  1. Umm....because they were the first team to beat Mourinho's Chelsea at the bridge and beat us twice, without letting us have a single shot on target that game. In fact, Basel are a bogey side for English teams in general, we saw what they are capable of doing against English teams and they did it to Liverpool. Basel will try to make a name for themselves and history for the club, if they manage to get to the Quarter finals. They will be a very hungry club in the 2nd round. Not saying we can't beat Basel but we all know for a FACT that they are capable of beating us HOME & AWAY. I think if we are drawn with Basel and if we manage to get past them, it'll be a very hard sweat inducing game for the boys and will probably be harder than the Quarters draw. Plus, Leverkusen are the easiest team that is possible for us to get. All I have to say,MOYES 9-2 Leverkusen or should I say PSG 6-1 Leverkusen, the same PSG we beat next round. As I said about German Clubs before, bar Munich & maybe Dortmund, teams like Schalke & Leverkusen are Europa league fodder, that are allowed to compete in the UCL because of the success of Munich & a freak season by Dortmund.
  2. Basel are the hardest team for us, they are our bogey side. But the easiest team probably would be Bayer, we should beat them with ease. PSG & Juve are hard too. I think Juve will be best to get, time for revenge.
  3. Yup sure am Buddy haha. Got fucked yesterday betting on Zenit game.
  4. OK fair lol I don't mind once you quote me. Liverpool were just as bad in CL as in the league, at first yes I thought they would make it through but I'm not really bothered, it's Liverpool for crying out loud, a team that are 9th lol. Zolayes, I think Arsenal are pretty decent in the CL and they have good chance to advance as long as they aren't drawn with Real, Barca or Munich. City, I'm not sure about tbf, they've had their good, bad and the ugly days in the CL.
  5. Lol, Leverkusen, Dortmund and Schalke all will be knocked out next round. While, we and Arsenal/City will still remain. It's either Arsenal or City to quarters I think, don't think both of them will make it tho.
  6. Man, wished Salah got more game time, definitely could've used him against Newcastle.
  7. Yet another Italian side flatter to deceive. We've seen it all. AS Roma gave everybody false impression by winning first game 5-1 and getting a point at the Etihad. TBH, as long City get Dortmund or Porto, they'll go through. Don't see them going past Monaco, Monaco have a VERY organised defence and keep in mind, City couldn't break down CSKA.
  8. Is anyone here afraid of Basel? We may just very well be drawn with them, after all they are our bogey team in Europe.
  9. OK that sounds good lol. Unless they buy quality players in January, don't see them doing much in the Europa League.
  10. Does anybody on here know the chances of LFC getting back into the champions league by winning the Europa League this year?
  11. Monaco have been woeful tbh domestically but they've managed to grind 1-0 results out against Benfica & Leverkusen, who aren't very good opposition. They have a very good defense, that's the thing that makes them good. They've probably only conceded 1 goal the entire group, probably the least. Lol just loving all the Arsenal tweets praying Arsenal get Monaco in the 2nd round, just hoping Monaco don't make it easy for Arsenal if they are drawn.
  12. Zenit were woeful this game, no threat at all and Hulk was invisible. Oh well, there's always next year I guess for AVB. But now that he has entered the Europa League, most likely he is the favourite now to win it.
  13. We'll see, I'm backing Zenit with a win tho.
  14. Zenit game, Monaco had 1 shot and Zenit had 2. Only 3 shots the entire half. Bloody hell, there needs to be more action in this game.
  15. Backing a Zenit win today, I'm putting my money on them today, better not disappoint. Plus wouldn't it be great if we got Liverpool in the 2nd round? Good old days when they were actually decent...
  16. Wow, how similar can this United team be to last year's City side. Both teams started out poorly, both teams struggled away games at first, both teams lost to relegation sides (Cardiff last year, Leicester this year) and then gradually both of these sides are building up. What can this United side mean to the title race?
  17. Bunch of degenerates, just as bad as Newcastle fans wanting Pardew out.
  18. Ok I did not know about the care taker managing the game against Dortmund but still AVB did an amazing job last season, winning all his first 6 games and he is dominating the league this season, with him on the verge advancing to next round of UCL. I thought AVB was amazing for Tottenham, if AVB had Bale for one more season, he would've got top 4 I think.
  19. Well to be fair, he is doing good in the Champions League with Zenit as he is likely to take them to next round with a win next game. Secondly, he is leading the Russian League by a lot of points with a team that hasn't won the league for 3 years. He did a good job beating Dortmund on second leg away, once the previous manager was sacked after the first leg. I think AVB is a good manager, just has been misconstrued. He did a fine job the first season at Spurs. Second season, he started out brilliantly the first month or so. He started getting beat by Liverpool, City and he was only off 4 points I believe off top 4, only in December.
  20. AVB would make a disastrous mistake if he were to leave Zenit to come to Liverpool FC lol, it'd just wreck his career. Currently, he is building up, and he is doing a fine job for Zenit, leading the Russian League and doing decent at the Champions League. Plus, he is always guaranteed Champions league at Zenit, as long as he finishes 1/2nd.
  21. Get well soon Aguero, huge loss for the Premier league and City. It sucks he's out for 6 months, oh well I guess this is an advantage for us.
  22. Pretty much, the FA want competition in the title race so it makes the league look good. If we kept winning and City kept dropping points, there'd be 0 competitors for the title race, it'd be the Bundesliga basically.
