Irrespective of what happens this season, I'd still never want Avram Grant. The 'fighting spirit' they had last season was just out of their united opposition of Grant and their sense of injustice imo. Time has allowed that to fade now, which is why what we're getting this season is the result of a squad totally pissed off with Kenyon & Abramovich letting them down.

Totally agree about the whole Robinho deal because not only did we really need him at Chelsea, but from the minute the deal fell through, Scolari seems to have shrugged his shoulders and decided he really can't be arsed with us now.

Hasnt that happened before when we've played them? When I heard it yesterday it felt a bit deja vu. Not that being dragged out of the hotel for a fire alarm in any way excuses the way we played yesterday, that was about attitude not tiredness.

Scolari only signed for two years anyway, he never planned to stay and his whole demeanour and attitude dont suggest anything different. I'd go for the younger players option. A couple of quiet seasons won't do us any harm - we're getting used to not winning stuff now anyway - so I'd do what Fergie did. We might not like him, but he knows his stuff. Bring through young players and be patient for a couple of years while they develop into a title winning side. Of course we can still have a few experienced players, just not a side full of ageing fuckers whose fires have all gone out.

Its bad enough to lose to United, but to be totally embarrassed by them is something we havent had to experience in a long time. Humiliating. Lazy, no passion, no commitment and we've run out of ideas and steam in January. Happy fucking days!

In games against United, Arsenal and Liverpool this season we've struggled and ended up with 1 point from 9. What makes anyone think we'll get anything from Old Trafford? Thats not being sarcastic either, Im serious. What are other people seeing that I'm missing?

I think this new style contract for our older players is a really smart move. Look at what Sheva earned and what we realistically got for our money. No more over 30's coming to SB to sit back on a big pay day. Really good idea from Chelsea for a change. Besides, you'll soon see the merceneries hot foot it out the club then. Glad to hear the five year deal they gave Lampard see's a reduction in his salary after 3 years as well. I'm really liking this particular financial change.

I really wouldnt be getting excited about United's result last night. They played it like it was a game that wouldnt matter in the scheme of things - and ultimately, it wont - they've got the 2nd leg at OT anyway so why would they knock themselves out ahead of our game? Having said that, I was having a whinge about Abramovich not spending the other day and it was pointed out to me that he has actually spent another £50million on Chelsea in the last year whereas I was trying to say he hasnt given us any money for ages. Ivanovic £9million Anelka £15million Bosingwa £16.3million Deco £8million The fact is, if the managers arent spending the money he gives them well enough, thats hardly Abramovich's fault and it probably doesnt inspire him to keep handing it over.

We seem to have had a damn sight more injuries so far this season but I havent seen anyone suggesting Scolari's a demi-god for keeping us in contention. Thats not to say I rate him, its just a comparison. Yes, Jose was the most successful manager in Chelsea history but he also spent more money than anyone in our history. If Scolari had shitloads of money to bring in anyone he chooses, he might do just as well and all. Personally, I think Scolari will be around til the summer and Rijkaard will take over then - something just makes me think this was the plan all along.
