I've noticed that Schurrle has a hard time influencing games from the bench. Much better starting. Willian should've always been the first sub to make. A fresh Willian is one of the last players an opposition team would want to deal with in the last 20mins. Ramires has been atrocious in the final third recently. Say what you want, but there's no excuse for not being able to make simple passes, especially in important counter-attacking moments. If we ended up drawing that game I think there would've been a few more people to chastise him. Seriously, if the striker situation isn't addressed in January there is something seriously wrong with the club. If we can find £30m for Willian, our 12th attacking-midfielder, I think people are entitled to expect a decent striker sometime soon. Even someone like Dzeko or Hernandez would be fine for now (not that we'd get them). Anyone at all, seriously. Ship out Ba for a few million (the only one we could ship) and get someone in. We've spent a ridiculous amount in the past few years for a team still 'in transition'; you'd have to seriously question who is in-charge of bringing players in (Emenalo I'm guessing). Yes, Mata, Hazard, Oscar, Willian etc. are all fantastic but they're all the same fecking position (£100m for just those 4?).

It's only a matter of time as far as I can see. If he leaves Southampton it'll be for us. Even if the likes of United or City came in for him, I don't think we'd allow them to bid for him unchallenged...at least I hope not.

Hazard, Willian and Schurrle in particular are all more than capable of causing havoc for any defence, nevermind Arsenals (which isn't great). The pressure is mostly on them remember. Jesus, take off the blue specs for a second. Messi and Ronaldo also play with the best players in the world. The majority of the World Cup and European Cup winning squad is split between each team, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Alonso, Isco not to mention Bale, Sanchez, Neymar, Di Maria etc. The list goes on. Suarez plays with Henderson, Sterling, Moses, Flanagan etc. see the difference? Even Gerrard and Sturridge are injured but this is the second time in a week he's had a hand in ALL of Liverpool's goals in a game. That's 8 goals... No one can deny he is in Messi/Ronaldo territory at the moment; 19 goals in 11 games? He's basically single-handedly put Liverpool in top spot. Seriously, there's biased, there's ridiculously biased and then there's you.

Parking the bus with the state of this defence at the moment is an absolute deathwish. Arsenal even decided to park the bus at Old Trafford and they were well beaten in all honesty. I hope José realises being negative won't help. The only way we're getting anything out of the game is by attacking them. Their defence isn't great once you get at them e.g. City. Schurrle, Willian, Hazard can do serious damage on the counter. Hopefully that's what José goes for instead.

Yes José inherited the squad, but you can also argue that he had the entire summer to address its deficiencies. Every man and his dog knew that we were in dire need of a top quality DM but instead we buy MVG who is seen as 'one for the future' (I've nothing against him and I hope he comes back asap). He tried to make Lampard his 'Pirlo', which is completely laughable when you honestly think about it. And wanted to play him, a 35 year old, in almost every game while never giving the likes of Chalobah or Aké a chance. As for the striker problem, I think the less said about that the better. I mean, bringing in a semi-retired Eto'o and loaning a guy who scored twice as much as Torres in the league last season, and in a lot less minutes? Seriously? Not to mention spending £30m on a AM which could've been better invested in literally ANY OTHER POSITION AT ALL. My point is, even if José is making these signings or not, he had his chance in the summer to put his foot down and say "I need at least 1 quality DM and/or ST" or "I want to develop 1 or 2 youth players this season" or "We don't need a £30m AM, the squad needs investment in other areas" etc. etc., but he didn't. And I think that's why some people are annoyed, because they thought José would address these deficiencies straight away instead of waiting for another transfer window and going through yet another 'season of transition'.

He's still very young, so I wouldn't comment on his spirit just yet. But sadly, I think you're right. He needs to go somewhere he'll be appreciated; It's clear he relies heavily on confidence. ...he did well there though!
