Really classy performance from him. So calm on and off the ball. Often see him jogging to almost a walking pace and then he bursts with his long legs to make an interception or tackle. Great anticipation. We just needs another one of him!

Good job Townsend's dad! Thanks for that! Just picked us straight out without mixing them!

I somehow stumbled across this gem in a Bayern Forum (don't ask why, I don't even know). Still bitter do you think?: I think this guy is worth around €15m, skill-wise. His price is only inflated because he plays for Chelsea, and there's no way we're going to bid €48m just to make a Russian oligarch grin: we've already given him such satisfaction a year and a half ago. Also this video that rips the piss out of us, but it's still a little bit funny! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMKfV4TU1kI

Juan Manuel Mata, there's only Juan Manuel Mata, Juan Manuel Maaaaata....
-
He's probably making a fool out of the likes of Rio (mug) in training as we speak. And he's probably thinking "Wow! This is easy!". Yes Juan, you just wait until your first game...
-
Shit, I've reached my limit for this month so I can't see it. Any chance you could paste it in here for us mate?

From Juan's YouTube channel a few weeks ago. His 2013: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dHKOP5GPC0g&feature=c4-overview&list=UU_WoyWJ6cx9LEhGohfPi-3g

Could we please ignore the Manc who has nothing better to do on the day his club makes a record signing other than to troll Chelsea fans? If not, ban him or something so people aren't tempted. The day is bad enough without having to see his shit in here.
-
If you watched the rest of it he even took the time to thank Chelsea...
-
Just as I start to think I'm getting over it, he goes and posts all this stuff.... And by the fucking way: "From feeling like an important player, I started to experience some difficult situation and felt unable to help the team to the extent that I wanted and was used to...I look forward to being happy and to enjoy what I like the most: play football" I hope those idiots disrespecting him throughout the past couple of days made themselves feel a lot better about the whole thing. Probably the classiest guy we've had and he didn't deserve any abuse in the slightest. Obviously, he was too classy for some. Thanks again Juan, you absolute gent of a human being.

I really don't think they would only do it temporarily. Oscar is our no. 11 here so it made sense for him to switch. Neymar is their poster boy for this year, so it also made sense for him. I don't think Oscar really cares about the politics of the number whereas Neymar and the people around him would... Yeah, that it. I just thought it'd be nice for Hazard to get it for next season because he was no. 10 at Lille and is so for Belgium, but again, Mourinho doesn't really care I suppose.
-
So...they're only doing it temporarily?
-
Just had a look at his facebook there. He also has this as his cover photo: Surely he wouldn't be given the number 10? I thought maybe it would be reserved for Hazard or even Willian next season? (I know Oscars number is 11 for Brazil as well, so he won't want it). I don't really have anything against it, but its a big enough number for what seems like a squad player. At least its not like giving number 9 to Steve Sidwell or fucking KHALID BOULAHROUZ! God, Mourinho really didn't give a shit about the numbers did he?
-
Didn't like him going to Derby because they weren't really stuck for goals, but my word, this lad doesn't care about the odds does he? You stick him on and he gives you a goal. I don't want to get carried away because it's obviously still extremely early, but he seems to have a mental toughness about him and that can only be a good thing. Really looking forward to seeing his development. Another good season in the Championship and who knows?
-
Eh, don't you mean 5th minute? You seem more like a troll than an actual Chelsea fan. Either that or you're X's little brother or something.
-
Being at one club for 10 years and still managing to somehow look as if his loyalty level is still at 0 says everything you need to know about the man.

You'd swear by listening to some people that Mata has been doing nothing but scratching his arse for the past two years...anyway, enough of this for me for a while I think. I'll stay away from this thread to avoid the (few) ungrateful idiots. The last thing i'll say is on this: '(I wish) to keep being happy and to make the people around me happy. At the end, that is what life is about! '. Those are the words Mata used in his blog just under 3 weeks ago. You heard Mourinho, he wasn't happy here anymore. He tried to adapt to Mourinho, he tried to change, he was doing the best he could but it just wasn't enough apparently. Juan is happy when he plays his football and that's pretty much all he needs - he wasn't getting that here. So for people to start holding stuff against him and belittling his accomplishments here, well, it just goes to show how little they know about the man and in general. Adios amigo. I genuinely hope you become happy again.
-
It pisses me off that his last act here was being dragged off against Southampton - a game he was actually playing well in; 100% passing, 3/4 tackles made in his own half - he was trying to adapt the best he could, but it wasn't enough apparently. Such a great player for us and, contrary to the way some are acting here, a player we owe a lot to. Such a shame. It'd be nice if he said goodbye to the fans, or we got to say goodbye...something.

Why Mata? Well, you saw Moyes in the summer, his plan seemed to be 'if we bid on enough unrealistic targets someone will eventually join'. It just so happens that Mata was that someone, sadly. I hope they lump him out on the wings. He's not even half his worth out there. Knowing Moyes, that's what he'll do. Well, I'm not really sure about the profit part. We've already spent £11-12m on Salah, potentially rising to £16m, so that's the profit pretty much gone. It could've been avoided if we kept him, sold him for less in the summer and used any one of Traore, Hazard, Atsu, Piazon etc. for free. We could've not sold to a rival and developed one of the 23421534324 AMs we already have instead....but, alas. Shitty transfer in my eyes.
-
That was my next point.
-
The definition of irony. If you cared to read any of my previous post you'd understand that i'm not a 'Mata zealot' and am only against the sale to a rival, but i'm not surprised, perhaps they were a little long for your liking. At least i'm not a clueless knob who tries to be controversial just for the sake of it - I don't try to belittle those who have the capacity to think independently just because they don't conform to 'God Mourinho's' will. It's nice that you let Mourinho do all of your thinking for you though. Does he cut your toast in the morning and wipe your arse as well?
-
Well the zealot part wasn't aimed at you, but what you say about information is my point though: People will never really know what happened even though they'd like to think otherwise from the snippets of information we'll receive. We hardly expect Mourinho to say he was pushed out the door for the money, the same way Mata isn't going to say he would've preferred to stay at Chelsea, at least for the time being. But some people will take these little things ('Mata was happy to go') and interpret it to suit their ideals (again, not really you) and I expect it to be brought up in later arguments. My point is that there's not really any point in focusing too much on this information because it's just a translation of events for the media and everyone has their allegiances to stand behind. It's all conjecture right now and we probably won't get a real version of events for quite sometime.
